A long consolidation!

I'm new here, but graduated C25k in March, and have been plugging away, consolidating since. I feel ready now to start working towards a 10k (would be so delighted & amazed if I could become a 10 graduate as well!). I'm taking it slowly (can't rush these things at 54), following a 10k training app, but I wondered if there was anything else I needed to do, ie. sign up/register? Thanks all.

Try Ju Ju's Magic 10, all you need to do is Google Ju Ju's Magic 10, there you will see a plan which will help you to run a 10K in about nine weeks from week 1

There is absolutely no hurry or timeframe to move from one distance to another (some people stick at 5/6K’s for ever after graduation), so take your time and listen carefully to your body. And most of all, enjoy it all! 🙂

Congratulations on graduating c25k. Glad you feel ready to move on to 10k. Your age is certainly not a barrier to achieving this, many of us regularly run 10k and are older. I used ju Ju's plan, it was fantastic. Whatever you choose believe it it and yourself. Happy running 🤗

I recommend ju-ju’s magic plan PC. No registering, no app to go wrong and dead simple to follow! Nobody was as surprised as I was to actually get to 10k and trust me, if I can you can! Good luck!

Thanks! I'll need to have a proper look at it.

You are very wise to have a long consolidation, sounds like you are doing all the right things.

Well done so far and happy running 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️👍

Welcome PandaCory. Hey, don’t worry, you’re a veritable spring chicken!

10k is a lovely lovely distance. A stand-alone goal in its own right, as well as being a springboard to even longer distances (if that’s your bag).

Lots of us used ju-ju’s Magic 10 plan, and did it more than once for fun. It’s very doable and gradually builds you up. I know you’d enjoy it. 😀

Hope you have fun. Keep posting and updating us on your progress won’t you? 👍😀

Thanks! When I'm plodding along in the dead of winter, teeth bared (my usual running face 😆) I'm going to think "lovely distance" & it'll keep me going 🏃‍♀️. My printer is gubbed, so I'll hand draw a copy of the Plan & stick it to the fridge. I'm really enjoying the challenge so far!
