Made myself go out the door this morning because lately I’ve not been feeling it and usually once you are actually running things seem better. Didn’t have a very good nights sleep last night as my tummy has been a bit unhappy the last couple of days. And then my friends Tom cat came down to do a bit of carol singing with his ginger mate outside my window at 5.00am again !!! ( 3rd morning in a row now 😡). I’m going to have to take the SuperSoaker up with me again tonight. It’s the only thing that shuts them up. I wouldn’t mind so much but all my 4 were indoors sleeping and I get woken by someone else’s!! And I’m always worried people will think it’s one of mine and get funny with them. Mine are all neutered but there are unfixed females 2 doors down and it’s upset the local “boys”. 🙄
Anyway I set off without a particular plan... maybe just 3k .. see how I feel. It had rained last night but was dry underfoot most of the way, except for a little bit under the trees at the edge of the park. And I ran for 60 minutes!!! Just over 7k so not v speedy but comfortable and I enjoyed the run. Well except for the last 2.5k when my tummy was making its feelings apparent!!! Made it home ok though and after a shower, scrambled eggs and pumpkin seed toast and 20 mins Pilates stretches I feel great now.
I’m aiming for a couple of 5ks rest of week and then maybe a 10k again at weekend.
Happy running folks 🏃♀️😁😜

I enjoyed the run, thought I’d better have some protein for breakfast and then wished I’d had porridge instead which I prefer. 🤣 don’t know why I cooked eggs as I only really like them hard boiled in a salad or sandwich
I love the image of you in the middle of the night with ur Super Soaker 🤣🤣🤣🤣. I do love cats but not when they "sing"...
As far as your run goes - that sounds a bit of a triumph! I'm sure those new shoes had a big part to play in that. 😉
I can't wait any longer for the shops to open in Scotland so I've ordered 3 pairs so hopefully one of those will hit the spot. Its bound to make me faster and fitter. ...
New shoes?? I wish. Well I say that ....my daughter has bought me a pair, exactly like a previous pair but half a size bigger, for my upcoming birthday... but I’ve not got them yet. 😌
I was lucky that Run 4 It in Edinburgh were still doing mail order so I recently just bought a new pair of Brooks Ghost 12s to replace the pair that had, quite literally, given up the ghost. Hopefully we'll be able to get out and about again soon up here.
I live about 1/2 mile from that shop! Thats where I got my current shoes and the staff were great. But I couldn't get my size in the ones I was looking at. Also didnt feel nice about just ordering one pair that might get sent back from a small shop. So I went for the massive Brooks (Ghost 12!), on Cloud flow from Ons and Nike for pegasus37 where if they fit will be an absolute bargain as I found my size in the kids section for 1/2 price! Will be torture waiting for them all to arrive separately before making a choice.
Brilliant effort I'm glad you got out for that 7k. Enjoy your 5k's in preparation for the weekend 10k. Hope your tummy and the cat calm down happy running 🤗
Well done limberlou - a 3k stretched into 7k! Hope your tum feels better soon, it’s not much fun when you’re out of sorts. My neighbour and I seem to operate a toilet facility for our neighbourhood cats but she swears by her SuperSoaker as repellent - I really must get myself one! Sorry cats!
Well it doesn’t hurt them ( only their pride) and it does seem to work. Although Jackson, my friends cat, only stays away for a while before he forgets and comes back.
But if the irresponsible people 2 doors down neutered their girl cats we wouldnt have this issue and there would be far less fighting and carol singing going on.
Getting out is often the hardest part, so well done on that and for the distance covered. Sometimes our circumstances make our achievements all the sweeter.
One of our local male cats often calls out as he passes through our garden, largely to let our cat, Meg, know that he's passing through and could she please not beat him up...
That sounds wonderful that you managed to go so far while not really feeling up to it👍 But I bet you are pleased with yourself now and what a lovely way to start the day 🌻
