Slowly building distance.

So I have been following JuJus magic plan, mainly. Can’t believe I now class 5km as a short run. It’s still not fast and it’s still not pretty but I will get to 10km, it is now in sight. One hour and twenty four minutes for 9.03km. Slow and steady. Booked in for the King’s Lynn GEAR in October. 10km road run 🏃‍♂️. My ambition is to do this in under 1-30.

Slow and steady is the way to go and if you keep consistently going out you will get that time down in due course. Keep going at the same comfy manageable pace and you'll be so surprised how things start to pick up for you. Well done and keep on keeping on!

Well done, you are so close to 10k now. Beware calling 5k short, having done loads of 10ks in lockdown I'm now calling 8k short - must stop doing that now it's so hot. Happy running 🤗

That is great. I’m at the same distance, 9k. 10k is somewhere in the distance! Slow and steady - want to high five you on that. It’s that mantra that saw me through the 5k and kept me going until now.

Well done for booking a 10k. That’s a good focus point. Keep it up!

9km, w1r1 seems so long ago when trying to run for a minute was a struggle. Now an hour and twenty four minutes is doable. I read the C25k forum while doing the course and the returning message from all the senior people who had already graduated was slow and steady. Know a couple of people who are doing the course now and I say to them the same message.

I will run 10k. Will take a while to get there and then consolidate, the same as we did for 5k.

Consider this a virtual high 5.

I’ll accept that virtual high 5 and throw you back another one for that consolidation statement! I run a longer bit and then I don’t increase it for a few weeks. My two favourite sayings: 1) slow down and then slow down more 2) consolidation, consolidation, consolidation!

Are you going to get your 60 minute graduation badge?

Oh crud. Thought I had already done that. Shows how on the ball I am in the heat.

You have a fantastic plan and it’s clear you’re moving forward to your goal with every step. It’s great when we take our time, with a goal to achieve it gives us a great mindset without overwhelming us or worrying what others are doing as JuJu said the other day you’re owning your own run -and you’re looking pretty good to me! Enjoy 👍👏🏃🏻‍♀️
