Juju wk6 run3 - tuff.

Due to do final run of wk6 on Fri, but when getting ready felt a tweak in my lower back. That put an end to the run as it got really sore.

3 days of rest and gentle stretching etc helped recovery, so decided to try this morn.

Began at 9:50 and getting quite warm, so not sure how it would go or whether I would finish 55mins. Started at 7mins per km pace but each km got slower and slower. Once I was within the last 10 mins I felt more comfortable mentally and knowing I would finish in the 55 mins. Although the distance was not great, and had further to walk home than expected, recovered enough to do another 5 mins run.

So today actually ran 60 mins but not all at once.🥵😎🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

Even passed a man in his wheelchair!!👩‍🦼🤸‍♂️

According to the Garmin I got last week on my birthday I should now take 4 rest days: must be because of my age. Ha ha.

Been doing the time on juju's plan, but thought changing wk7 to 60 mins and wk8 to 10km, but will do the time for 7&8 then try 10km for next(wk9).

Silverfox1943, well done. Well done for completing the run, well done for waiting when you tweaked your back, so easy to push on then hurt yourself more. It was really hot this weekend, so brilliant work. One thing I found, OldGirlruns blew my mind in wk7 suggesting that you don’t have to do the runs in order, i.e. 4,5,9 🤯. Once I overcame my OCD I found if I was going well I would press on and do the longer run, then it isn’t hanging over you at the end of the week.

Hi Markco, I was tempted to do that but learnt after C25k not to push too hard and increase gradually. At my age I hope to keep running for another 5/6years.🤸‍♂️

That sounds a great run! I'm just about to start week 4 on the timed plan so it's good to see somebody ahead of me on the same plan. Sounds like you're going well if you're thinking of hanging on to the 10k mark! I would probably need another 60 mins to do that 🤣🤣

Just checked my distances: 50mins 6.52km and 55 mins 6.66km, but the 55 min run felt hotter. Well behind the distance chart.

I was going to leap into doing 10km after run 8 but will just take things gradual and not be too cocky.😎
