I read a post on here from Irishprincess about leaning forward into the run when going up hills. So on my last 3 runs I tried it and it really helped.

So it just goes to show when people post on here some of what they post really sticks in the mind .

Went out and ran one of my routes today that has hills and inclines and with slowing down and leaning forward has made my run so much better.

So thanks for this πŸ˜ŠπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ‘

That’s sounds good, I think I do that naturally but thought it was a bad thing. Deffo seems to keep me going. Lovely to hear about your runs 😊

We were always told to run by keeping our body upright and straight . But when I seen Irishprincess post I thought I'd give it a go and it's worked on the last 3 runs 😊

Brilliant effort, still jealous of your hills especially now you’ve discovered the secret🀣 now try leaning forward on the downward slope, takes guts and balance but saves the knees jarring from braking on each stride. Can’t say I manage it very often. I prefer to break and be in control. Happy running πŸ€—

There is a steep downhill on the route I ran today I just seem to slow it right down more so that I don't fall🀣🀣

Down hill my cadence goes up and my stride length goes down. I lean in when going up, but also slow down!!

So right Buddy. There are so many things to take from people on here as you run. Well done for getting out again.

Good run for you today Buddy34 and great advice from Irishprincess as well regarding running up hills, I will remember that when tomorrow I run that Virtual "Vitality 'London' 10,000" (10k) run tomorrow that Dexy5 has invited people to join.

You can do it on the flat too, lean more forward to run faster and ease back to run slower. ...

Ha ha Irish Princess, you were asking me about my beard on another post, as far as shadows, from about 4 months growth of it, when the sun shines I can see the shadow of my beard when I walk, run or cycle jutting out of my chin. 😊

When I run up a hill I am aware looking at my shadow that I am leaning forward when running, unless the hill is very steep, then I will 🚢 walkπŸ˜€

Morning IP, it was very majestic this morning when I ran that "Virtual Vitality London 10,000" for Dexy5 around my local loch in a time of 73,21, I could see the shadow of my beard all the time as the sun was shining, a good run for me, that was my 6th 10K.

Hi buddy34 , I agree although I find it awkward at times , you need to look up Jae Gruenke β€œ Balanced runner β€œ on YouTube some interesting advice / tips about form and techniques . Plus she backs it up with body science and personal experience!
