I’ve been lurking in the shadows, now time to commit

After 18 CRs, it was time to make up my mind. Really just making sure I could run 5.5k, so I didn’t quit on w1 🥵. Also wanted to verify I was mentally up to the challenge as I’ve been fighting lockdown lethargy.

I did the 5k on Wed and 5.5k today. Walked to make 5.5 equal 8.5k to prep for greater distance. This will either help or backfire. My hips are crying foul.

Light rain and cool weather made for a great run today.

No need to lurk, you’re a runner so be proud and run with a smile. The weather is perfect for running at the minute isn’t it? Well done, you’re doing brilliantly 🙂 don’t forget to stretch those hips...

Still feel like a pretender, but I’ve seen other runners that look to be running as slow and steady so will pull up my big girl pants and get moving.

Imposter syndrome - the bane of my life! Don't let it hold you back. 💪

Since retiring I prefer 'fake it til you make it.' 👊

Nice to see you over here. You're probably more than ready to get to 10k. Like you say it's just convincing yourself you are. Hope you enjoy it and look forward to your posts😊😊

Thanks Buddy34. I’ve never ever been a runner, and I’m sure it’s a lack of confidence.

Welcome. Dont pre judge what you are capable of- at some stage you got off the couch and managed 5k, you will do the same as you extend distance. Trust the plan. Dont add fiddly bits like extra walking to reach a random distance, the plan will get you to that distance when you are ready. The hips may be hurting after suddenly changing from a long run motion to a long walk motion - muscles being used in different ways. Take care, believe in yourself and happy running 🤗

Thanks. I’m overthinking it, per usual 🤭.

😂🤣 when it gets warmer you do sometimes pray for rain!

So when do you charge your name to dieOR10k?

dieOR5k was my motivation name to not spend one more minute in my body. Sedentary, stiff, overweight. While I lost some, more importantly I feel stronger, body and mind. Miles to go, acknowledging all the miles behind me.
