My run mate is looking for some advice..

As she is struggling with calf pains during her running.

Always warms up and stretch afterwards but nothing seems to be working.

Any and all advice gratefully received..

There is an article of torture that fixes this - a roller. Use a tin or bottle if you can’t get hold of a foam roller. Go gently on it, it hurts. Happy running 🤗

I agree with Grannyhugs a foam roller is great for aches and is your mate drinking at least 2-3 litres of water every day and not just on run days. 😊

Tell her to stretch her calves after each run and three times every day. The stair calf stretch is the best one. If she doesn’t have a foam roller then a tennis ball will work well too.

Compression socks might help - I always wear them for longer runs since I suffered a calf strain that put me on the IC for a couple of weeks.

I agree UTS, compression socks are great. I wear calf sleeves as an alternative sometimes too🙂👍

Try doing calf raises and calf sleeves are great. I found they really help
