Running shorts

With the weather getting warmer (until next week!) I am looking for some comfortable shorts with a phone pocket. Has anyone got any recommendations?

Just seen Care Bears and Sesame street shorts but I think my favourite is the paw print ones👍

I like the ones with dogs all over but they’re sold out in my size. Hopefully they’ll have the leggings in for winter 😍 🐶 🐕

Thanks Tasha - I'd never heard of them but they look great - so much more fun than the most available black offerings. Very tempted by the Exotic Snakes - next to decide between 'loose fit' or 'running shorts'

Tikiboo are addictive! Luckily I’ve lost weight so I can buy loads of new ones and justify it 🤣 They’re quite generously sized I find.

I'm really spoilt for choice now - it's funny how neither of these are recommended on the 'running' sites - maybe they take themselves too seriously. These shorts look quite long, especially as I am quite short!

Sturdy by Design do great legging style shorts, in a short, and long length.

Pocket at back of waist band, about £29 plus postage.

I use Ronhill Strides. They are legging style but above the knee, so give a bit more thigh coverage than short shorts. Standard legging zipped pocket at the back.

Thanks for the recommendation.

Check pocket size against your phone, my phone doesnt fit in the pocket of my shorts.

Yes, it's dificult to tell that from the websites - some are rather 'short' on detail, which is why I thought I'd ask here.

I’ve just bought a trail running skort from Decathlon, really pleased with it and pockets galore!

That looks interesting and good value - shame they only do it in black. Their trail running shorts look good too.

I glad/not glad, that I now know about Tikiboo. I don't need any more gear, but, there are so many amazing designs

Me too - I can see that I am going to 'need' more than one pair!

Good question Lourunrun! I was thinking the same! I think I'm going to try Sturdy by Design. Though I must say the company names sounds like a scaffolding company! Which did you go with? were they any good?

I ordered a pair of the Tikiboo loose shorts - very unflattering and had no phone pocket -so they went straight back. I would have chosen their running shorts instead, but they didn't have any in a design I liked. I then tried a selection from Decathlon, which are all unfortunately black or black - but they are comfortable and have plenty of good sized pockets and are very reasonably priced. I ended up with a skort, a slightly longer pair of shorts and a shorter but really lightweight pair of shorts (altho' the pocket in these is only just big enough for my smallish phone) but I thought they'd be nice when it's really hot. (Plus I bought one of their sports bras - more comfortable than the more expensive one I already had, and some running knickers - better for running than my normal cotton ones! - so overall spent just as much anyway!)

I did look at Sturdy by Design, but they only had long shorts and I really wanted short shorts!
