So today was going to be a few firsts for me, first time running in shorts. Now I know that might not be a big deal but for me it was as just didn't have the confidence before .
Also today I ran my longest run ever, just over 16k. It was hard it was hilly in parts but it was beautiful and so rewarding.
Now I know I've said it lots of times but all you people on here have totally helped get me there with all your own running posts . So thank you πππββοΈπββοΈ

I would say both by the sounds of it brilliant I donβt like shorts because of my legs are milk bottle white lol we humans are strange people ππ€£ππ€£ but to be fair you must be on a high after today πππππ
Me too π but I am not even contemplating shirts! Congratulations on the run. Youβll have to hop across to the Marathon site to get your 10 mile badge π Fantastic time too, especially with hills ππ»π₯³π₯
Wow Buddy34 , thatβs a fantastic distance! You must feel so pleased with yourself? I agree with you 100%, the people on this forum are fabulous...well done to you x
Thank you , we had sunshine since this morning a bit duller nowπ
Blimey!! This is insane πππ
Well done Buddy. That is a cracking distance and time. I'm well chuffed for you! Absolutely fantastic. Shorts are definitely the future so well done on being brave and getting out there like that. Remember, you inspire us as much as we do you. Brilliant. I'm buzzing and I didn't even run it!!πππ rest up now and be really proud.
Thank you , well shorts are for the sunshine so I'd thought I'd give it a goπ
Wow wow wow Buddy!! What a fantastic run! Running in shorts obviously agrees with you ππββοΈ . That distance and time is a huge achievement. A massive well done from me π₯³π€ΈββοΈ.
Inspired by you, I have just ordered my first pair of running shorts!! If any body had suggested that as a possibility last year I would have laughed at them π.
Wow, that's a great distance and time! I did my first 10 miles on Saturday, it's probably because I didn't wear shorts, but took me over 2 hours!! I completely understand the shorts issue, and I think you were brave and deserve to be very proud!! Well done!
Thanks and congratulations on you also running 10 miles. Once I was out running I just forgot all about the shorts , half my legs are tanned with running so the other half just need to catch up π€£
Well done Buddy, you have done brilliantly, and if you did 16.1km do claim your 10 mile badge on the marathon forum. Celebrate in style πββοΈπππΎπ₯
Thank you Dexy , yes I've claimed my shiny new badge . I will celebrate with spaghetti bolognese made by my husband and a mint chocolate Magnum ice cream π€£
10 miles is a big milestone of an achievement π
And a brave move wearing shorts too! I was brave enough to wear mine once last summer π But they just feel so much freer and cooler on very hot days π
Well done Buddy. 16km is fantastic - but running in shorts....... so brave. I could never unleash my milk bottles on the world - itβs just not ready π€£π€£π€£. I bet it felt lovely to have the air on your legs.
I used to be embarrassed about being seen out running at all let alone in shorts, which is why I did it before 6am every morning. Now I don't give a damn and go out at any time of day
Wow, well done!! Thatβs a fantastic achievement and for wearing the shorts too!! πππ You must be very pleased with yourself. Looks a lovely place to run too. πββοΈππ
Thatβs amazing. Well done Buddy34. Iβve still got to brave shorts with my footballers legs which female and 62 years young is not a great sight. And I canβt even play footballπ. Youβve now inspired me to go for more than 10K .
Nice one buddy - 16k is brilliant and the route looks fantastic. . Shorts I don't know what the problem is personally I'd run in my wellies if I thought it would help : )
That's a great achievement. Those legs are bringing you places you never thought you could go before . Wear the shorts with pride. I'm so impressed πͺ
Nice work there! I only wore shorts once ... few summers ago ... nearly caused a bush fire and the chafing was not worth it so didn't bother again and stuck to running tights!!!
