Thanks Roseabi. I’m certainly missing Parkrun and my Parkrun friends😕 but keeping in touch with running friends, here and on Facebook and Strava all help!🙂

I was fairly used to running on my own so I haven’t found it too hard to adapt. I wouldn’t want to run without music or podcasts though!😊

Stay safe and well🌈everyone, and run when you can!🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️👍

I miss running alone along the South Downs Way xxx

I am mostly (and happily) a lonely goat - but I do miss the anticipation and buzz of events, be they the smaller local ones or the great big mass participation ones! 👍😀

But yes, we run on...and this video (another winner from The Running Channel) made me cry!! Brilliant! 😀👍

I always run alone, but I miss hilly trails of the sort featured in the vid 😍

I thought Anna's back yard marathon was fantastic, gruelling but fantastic 👍 the channels a watching must 👍👍

I am not mega familiar with it, but what I have seen I have liked! This one was posted by my local parkrun on Facebook yesterday, and I just love the footage of the trail runs - that's what I miss at the moment 😊😊😊

As you know, I can’t run at all at the moment but it’s all down to injury, not the current situation. I am missing it like mad, especially parkrun, but if anything it’s a bit easier knowing that I can’t physically do it. The Vitality 1000 at the end of May would be impossible but I’m sorry I won’t catch up with VRB s as planned even to cheer them on. Hopefully I can run at a rearranged race. My physio exercises are a daily routine now. I can see some light at the end of the tunnel.

Keep Safe, Keep Running

Did I read that you have gone for a run recently Roseabi?

That’s fab! Some great run routes there. I was watching something on TV last night and a guy was running beside a loch and it looked just stunning. Of course, I now really want to run a similar route 🏃‍♀️🙂

Thanks for the perk 👍🤗

Heard today chippenham half in sept is cancelled.... I was really setting my sights on that... I'm finding it hard to keep up longer runs with no longer term running events.

roseabi in reply to Rhodalewis

I suggest you don't worry about long runs for the time being xxx

Just wondering if the London Marathon in October will again be cancelled as there is some talk about large social, musical and sporting events not taking place until next year.

I wouldn't be surprised!

roseabi ... would you recommend then just maintaining regular running?

roseabi profile image
roseabi in reply to Rhodalewis

Not quite sure what you mean by regular running, but I would suggest that you mix things up with some intervals runs, shorter runs, sometimes run slightly further than you've been used to, add some strength work, indoor cardio, yoga, anything that's available at the moment that you might enjoy. Get yourself fitter and stronger so that when the time comes you can begin your HM training with a solid base xxx

Thanks Roseabi. I am trying to build in strength workouts which I dont usually do. I think youre absolutely right ..mixing it up and getting into good habits which will stand me in good stead later. I am determined to try yoga too!!

That's great - have fun with it!!! xxx

A lot of us like Yoga with Adriene - here's one of her beginner workouts to try:

We also have a few excellent indoor workouts over in Strength & Flex - working on building up this list 😊

I feel guilty as I am the same as usual as I don't do events and i mostly run alone. But I am loving exploring some new trails in the local woods as my husband has joined me who is a superb navigator, as I would get lost on my own!

roseabi in reply to ju-ju-

That's fab!!! 😍🤣

I don't really miss events either, and I always run alone - but this video made me all wistful about running on trails, which I can't do at the moment 😊😊😊

That is hard, I do appreciate I am so lucky to have the woods right on my doorstep...

I like it, although I'm not so sure my hip does 😂

This crazy situation has motivated me more than ever. As a lone 'non-event' runner I'm having some remarkable times running 5 times weekly training for ultra. This months I'm likely to clock in over 260km which normally l simply wouldn't have the time for. But, if l could swap it for normal times, safety and health for all......

roseabi in reply to mrrun

I'm the same! Although I don't like to go too far from home at the moment, and it gets too crowded to run here after about 9 am, I'm getting some hardcore workouts done and I'm starting to feel super fit and strong 😊😊😊
