I put up a post earlier in the week about doing a virtual parkrun tomorrow morning. Just a solo 5K run in our locality. But we can pretend it’s a parkrun. And then post our little run reports over a post virtual parkrun breakfast, tea or coffee.
I look forward to hearing from you all tomorrow and catching up on the virtual parkruns. I’ll put up a little post in the morning and we can all then add to it.
Photo is from my last parkrun. My First parkrun in Northern Ireland.
Cheers,
Damien

I'm in Damien, tomorrow at 9.30 I will be running my 5th virtual 5K parkrun, incidently, tomorrow is my second runiversary on starting C25K with run 1 of week 1, it was the 18th April 2018.
Fantastic. I think I started around this time of the year too 3 years ago. I can’t remember the start date but I graduated on the 22nd of June 2017. Happy running tomorrow.
Hello. Yes that was in the University Sports grounds in Belfast. I was working in Belfast on the Friday night so I was delighted to be able to do a Belfast parkrun and get a Q. My home parkrun is Navan, but I love to tour and run different courses. So would absolutely love to meet up when your home.
UpTheStanley will be virtually running with you damienair. I’ll accompany him on my bike and then knock up a nice brekkie. See you here in the morning.
Hi Damienair. I don’t feel comfortable with doing this on Saturdays where I live and am not sure it’s right to encourage parkrunners to be running close to parkrun time particularly if their local routes would be anywhere near an actual parkrun route.
It may be different for others but my normal running area encompasses my local parkrun route. The police are closing off road access to the seafront at weekends, and it’s sometimes challenging to maintain social distancing on our running routes even outside the weekend. I also don’t want to bring any problems down onto parkrun by being out running anywhere near a parkrun course at anything close to parkrun time. I have therefore made a conscious decision to shift my run pattern around and am doing 5ks on Tuesday and a longer run on Thursday. I am getting a shorter run in on Sundays by going out early.
I’d be very comfortable with something encouraging a virtual parkrun provided the ‘rules’ are it should not to be completed on a Saturday morning! Plus it should probably specifically ask people not to run an actual parkrun course on a Saturday.
I completely understand. I run a 5K route every second day which is within a 2K radius of my home. I leave my home on my own once every second day for 30 minutes to get exercise, which is a 5K run. I’m following the advice here in Ireland to the letter of the law. All I’m doing differently this morning is running the exact same 5K route I do every second day completely on my own and pretending it’s a parkrun. It’s also raining this morning so social distancing will be very easy.
Hi Damien! What a fab idea! It’s absolutely throwing it down outside so we may do a GMT parkrun at 10am. We have an alternative parkrun day look that we use so we don’t have to go to the park but it may be fairly empty in this weather. We have run out of bacon though, so no tradition post parkrun bacon rolls for us today.
We will all have virtual park run PBs! I run in the countryside near Lough Neagh. The only thing I encounter is the Lough Neagh fly...they refuse to stay in their own lane 🤣🤣
Brilliant damienair! Super photo too. I don’t do park runs as such , obviously
especially now of course. However the run I did this morning and posted ...would that count as a virtual park run?🏃♀️🏃♀️even though it’s not Saturday but Sunday ?🤣🤣
