The most important meal of the day, well it definitely it is for me, as I always wake up hungry, and a hungry Ian is a grumpy Ian π€..... But fed and watered ahhhhhhhhh the world's a lovely fluffy place π€.
Fed & watered, teeth cleansed and water splashed trainers on and out..
One could get used the reduced amount of traffic ( even if the current climate is worrying the lack of cars and traffic is lovely!).
It wasn't warm enough to need to take a sloshy bottle I don't like running cluttered and holding things. It was a breezyπͺοΈ run across my aqueduct take the cap off or lose it π¬... All's good cap back on, and a slow decent towards my three hills, the 1st hurts but concentrating on using arms helps grind it out, the 2nd and the 3rd just get the calf muscles as you have to lean into them a little I find but once at the top it's so satisfying knowing they haven't beaten you π. Then a gradual gentle slope, across the river (earlier crossed via aqueduct) and the path rises slowly for the next 1.5k but it's not savagely steep and it's a nice workout gradient without much huffing and puffing. The last 3k is into a headwind but not unbearable.
The porridge and berries have provided good fuel and it's a nice steady run to my finish.
Stretches, shower and lunch and then it'll be time for work..... The world's a nice place.. running makes it better.
Stay healthy you lot, if your running be aware of your space and that of others.
Let's beat this thing before we become extinct..
It's another 8pm clap for our NHS and key workers and perhaps those who have to be in a vehicle tonight for a valid reason, should join In with a honk your horn for out heroes alongside those who are clapping ππ₯³π£π―
Ahhhhhh the magical qualities of weetabix buddy, I'm a fan π€« have the bowl I saved my weetabix tokens for π but as much as I like my weetabix and believe me I do, they just didn't seem to have that running oomph π§
I have to admit it's not an equal in enjoyment compared with breakfasting on weetabix, and dare I say a little like wallpaper paste π I'm thinking I need to tweak my weetabix to add some oomph maybe like ju-ju with her yoghurt, I may go down the berry route π
Ok as we're on the subject of weetabix, I alternate between warm and cold milk this is determined by the clocks altering π so I've just transitioned from hot to cold milk π I may give the bananas a whirl
I have a slight variation to your porridge... I do yog, berries, granolas and honey, which I have after my run as I go early. I LOVE it and I really look forward to eating it as I am usually ravenous by the time I do. The run sounds lovely... Food is about the best thing to look forward to at the moment!!
That sounds scrummy ju-ju, it's just the honey π¬ it's toooooooo sweet.
Mrs Wife has zero fat yog stuff and I quite like that with a mix of berries in but it could be my little oddity but it's gotta be a tad warmer weather before I can go near chilly yoghurt, I'm a bit nesh regarding cold foods in cold weather π
That sounds another lovely run Ian though how you do it after a bowl of porridge I donβt know! I go out early on half a banana and look forward to the other half and my porridge as I trot along! Letβs enjoy these lovely spring days as much as we can!
Eeeeeek 1/2 a banana I'd be looking for a shop without my brekky I'd be starving π
Sounds like a great run, and Iβm loving the breakfast talk. Mine is currently an orange and a small slice of toast with marmite. Iβm not running so the fuelling thing is irrelevant, in fact it never has been relevant as Iβve never got to the point where I run far enough for it to matter! Mentally filing the information though, for future reference. Oh, and the key workers got a good round of applause again tonight in my street πππ»πππ»π
Yaaaaaay π₯³π for the key workers Mrs Wife did her stint at the NHS today, and passed the relay baton so to speak to moi so k didn't get to watch it sadly π
Oh I enjoyed your post ...from breakfast to a run with you... could imagine it all π€£ love your mantra The world is a nice place & running makes it better!! π
Thankyou Annie the world's definitely better for both running and weetabix especially when you can't sleep after a nightshift coz you're hungry π΄ not sure if I've just had a really late supper or super early breakfast......... Nightshift worker bodyclock malfunction I think π
