Phew, was it a nice change to see blue skies above our corner of Wales today. The rain ohhhhh it's been relentless. A shortish night last night meant bed time at a super 2am π so I set a quiet alarm if I woke, happy days I'll run...
I woke π.
Breakfasted Running gear on new chrimble injinjii toe socks π€, more cushioned than my other pair..... It's a chilly fresh December morning, just the two in one leggings, a base layer ski tee-shirt and a running shirt, definitely, gloves hat and the buff (doubles as a face covering passing walkers π€π). Tweaked the garmin settings after my last huge heart rate run so let's see....
Hmmmm that 1st klm always gets me is it leg excitement grrrr 5.39 slowwww down Ian, sent the memo and it seemed to work a slower 5.56 2nd klm but a faster 3rd π€― klm 4 the legs got the message at last and eased off. The roads are Christmas quiet, entwined with lockdown, it just meeeeee and the sound of my trainers rumbling along. The route dodged the aqueduct and leads to a nice towpath section I like. Mushy definitely mushy, with walkers and rapid mountain bikers, great respect with everyone today, people are getting wise at last π. It's a shorter towpath run as the lane I want arrives after the 3rd bridge dropping down past the mill house, odd dog walkers it's really quite pleasant this running thing π..... Puddles now ok remember the children's s book... We're going on a bear hunt? Ok not a puddle more a lake, infact a trainer covering lake, can't go over can't go around, gotta go through, hmmmm a very squishy run dispersing the water, thankfully the old adrenalines are great like that, and the rest is dry run soggy socks perhaps, over a really wild River Dee, a canoeist dream I'm guessing and home for a really hot cuppa after those stretches and shower.
Happy Running you lot out there, try to get those runs in for Linda's 2020 challenge we're nearly there,
Thank you Indielass00, it's enjoyable for people to see where you run, it's brings the description together for them to almost kinda-sorta run with you. The scenery we take for granted really does become so much more involving when your out amongst it π€
So true. I need to take some pics on my runs at some point. Live by the sea and have beautiful countryside. Feel very blessed with my surroundings. You canβt beat nature and itβs free! π
Looking gorgeous, socks and surroundings! ππ Sounds like a fabulous, squelchy, cold holiday run! Going on a run hunt! π§Έππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈ
I usually have soggy toes when I get home. My shoes are not in the slightest bit waterproof. I rely on the nature of the socks to keep my toes warm when wet.
The problem with waterproof is it works both ways. If it's good at keeping the wet out, it's good at keeping the sweat in, too. Your feet are going to get soggy whatever you do.
Great run Imc50. Its not a boat I need its a pair of ice skates. We had some overnight snow , which then thawed a little then the temperature went down to 1 degree. I hope you don't get much more rain down there. I love the photos, it looks a beautiful day ππ
Ohhhh Buddy34 you mentioned the R word it hasn't stopped since my nightshift started, it's a mixture of sleety, wet rain and very deep ( over the tops of hedges) puddles π¬.
Haven't had a pair of skates on since I was 16. I wonder of its like riding a bike. You know, you never forgetπ€£π€£
Ahhhh so it's 5 yrs since you've skated π€ you never forget β . We had a rink by us growing up, I never owned my own skates we just hired the said footwear, I could get around, gingerly but ok wobbling inclusive π€
Thank you Rebecca, but on the flip side of the Welshness of my runs, you have that immense cosmopolitan playground, and super parks, poles apart but so inviting for runs !π
Sounds an interesting and soggy run! I cant seem to add photos at the moment, tap on the bit, but nothing happens, any ideas! π€Ummm, wet socks, and shoes, was thinking of getting a second pair, while the others are drying out!
It was soggy but still it was good to get it in π. Ok pictures I'm using an Android phone, at the bottom of the message page you'll see "add photo" click the box, then select files, you should then be able to view your photos on your device, select picture it should attach, it may need a 2nd attempt but hopefully it'll attach okπ€ give it a go
