Really chuffed, and it was quicker than my first (although still very slow). Enjoyed Run with Eliud on the NRC app: he comes across as a lovely man and definitely made me smile 😊
As an aside: I have tried Revvies strips for long runs, as I’m out for over 1.5 hours. I don’t feel I need fuel as such, but as these are caffeine (the equivalent of half a cup of coffee) they are good for a pep up, and for me they really help ditch the heavy legs I feel after 45mins to an hour of running. I’m trying them along with carrying water in preparation fit my first 10k event in a few weeks. Has anyone tried them?

Well done on your 2nd 10k, Molly – good work! I have not tried Revvies either, but have been experimenting with fuelling as I am training for a Sept half marathon. Yesterday, I tried Tailwind for the first time, and really liked it. It is a powder that contains both carbs and electrolytes that you simply mix with water. I found it gentle on the stomach, and I definitely felt the boost after sipping from 8k onwards for my 12k run. You can also get Tailwind with caffeine added – haven't tried those yet. Nakd fruit and nut bars also seem to sit well on my tummy, but don't think they gave me quite the same boost as the Tailwind. It's all about experimenting and finding what works for you!
Thank you for the tip. I’m just doing 10k at the moment (and for the foreseeable) but as it takes me so long I thought I’d try something out. I tried jelly babies on my 5mile race and they just made me thirsty! Nakd bars sound good: I like them anyway. I don’t think I particularly need fuel but one of these Revvies strips definitely gave me a boost. Good luck with your HM training 👍
I too can't help with the fuelling but wanted to say well done!
On my 8k this morning there was one point when I felt I'd run out of steam... someone recommended dried apricots which I love and always have in the house. Will let you know how that goes.
