Oooh!! I’ve two things to report!

Can scarcely believe I’m texting this:

1) I ran for 60 mins tonight!! That’s an hour! An actual hour.⏱⏱⏱

2) I ran 8.5 k tonight! My longest til now has been 6.7k.

A new route, from my house to a village where hubby would pick me up. There’s a long downhill section going into the village so I just kept going, kept slow and bam! As usual, first ten minutes horrible then settled into it. Couldn’t wait to get typing on here, I’m still rather hyper just as I feel so pleased with myself. 😊😊😊

Well done. That's a great distance to cover for your first hour run. You must be feeling extremely chuffed with yourself.

Aw, thank you,Strongfuse. Can’t actually believe it. Never thought I’d be able to run for the hour. I think it helped that I was running to something, not in a loop or double-backing. Heading straight to the village seemed easier and knowing that was my end point. Not sure if that makes sense!

Just brilliant 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Well done 😀

Thank you Rigpig! I don’t plan on repeating it for a while - I’m knackered now. Will keep to 40 mins.

Rigpig profile image
Rigpig in reply toLeosmit

That’s the problem that I have, I get really tired and am useless for the rest of the day.

Leosmit profile image
LeosmitGraduate1060minGraduate in reply toRigpig

Funny, I was thinking about you earlier as I remembered you had posted that before. I am tired now and my legs are very tired but it’s ok as it’s bedtime. But for me to feel like this during the day would be awful - don’t reckon that would work well with running after the children and the housework!

Great run, fantastic time, wonderful distance . It's just so great to be celebrating fitness and health during a time when all the news is bad health. Happy running 🤗

Oh thank you! Can’t believe it. I love reading other folk doing milestone runs and never thought it would/could be me. I just wanted to complete the C25K and stick with 30 mins. It’s just so lovely to have another wee achievement to yourself. How’s baby doing?

Baby good - eat, sleep, poop repeat🤗

Cracking run well done 👍👍

Ian, thank you. The buzz this gives you is fab! Just doing something that you never thought you could.

in reply toLeosmit

I couldn't agree more Leosmit, the simplicity of it makes it so accessible, i look forward to run days soooooo much 👍🥳😁

LeosmitGraduate1060minGraduate in reply to

Great statement. That’s why I started - the thought of simply going out the front door for a bit of exercise when you had 30 minutes spare. No fees, no set time etc. And yes, a programme and a forum that makes it possible.

in reply toLeosmit

The downside is you find yourself drawn to shiny new trainers and running kit any any opportunity 😁

Congratulations on running for ONE HOUR, 60 minutes, you deserve to be very proud of yourself, good distance ran as well, onwards and upwards 🏃🏾

Leosmit profile image
LeosmitGraduate1060minGraduate in reply toAlMorr

Thank you, Alan. It’s so fantastic to do something that makes you feel chuffed with yourself. But no more upwards for me for a while, need to consolidate around the 6-7k mark for a while.

Brilliant milestones to achieve! Well done. That is some progress. Your longest distance and time running deserves a celebration!

Yep - sitting here with a huge cup ot tea and wait-for-it.... not just a 2 stick kitkat, a 4 stick kitkat!! 🥳🥳 I see you recently achieved 10 and 12k. That is fantastic. Well done on your progress!

Buddy, thank you. Can’t believe I have just done that! Does this sound silly but I think I might wait before I ‘allow’ myself the 60 minute badge. In the C25K you had to run 30mins three times in the last week. I’m going to consolidate around 6-7 k for a while, and aim for 2 more 60 minutes runs and then claim my prize. Does that make sense? Just a wee incentive for me to build up and sustain the longer distances.

👏🎈🔔 Wow that is worth shouting about!!! Excellent 😊Sounds like a lovely route & a supportive hubby ⭐️

Leosmit profile image
LeosmitGraduate1060minGraduate in reply toAnnieapple

Route good for the downhills but a few wee dips in the road which makes it a bit worrying about oncoming traffic. So not sure I’ll do again. But, hubby yes, he’s fab - thankfully. Now, you know I’m going to ask you - that wee 10 second thing.... you doing??? 😉

Annieapple profile image
AnnieappleAdministrator in reply toLeosmit

🙈Sadly not & haven’t run either since Monday. Down with a virus causing nausea & vertigo but getting there slowly!! Hope to start running on Monday & perhaps put some effort into that planking too!! (No promises on the latter 🙂🙃🙂😂)

Leosmit profile image
LeosmitGraduate1060minGraduate in reply toAnnieapple

Oh you poor thing - a nasty combination. Has the vertigo settled? Are you talking full-on room spinning? Such a horrible thing.

Annieapple profile image
AnnieappleAdministrator in reply toLeosmit

Yes...a middle ear thing!

Leosmit profile image
LeosmitGraduate1060minGraduate in reply toAnnieapple

Have you had that checked out by ENT?

Annieapple profile image
AnnieappleAdministrator in reply toLeosmit

Not yet but I will if it persists. Thanks 😊

Hi

There are some exercises on the web that help a lot - I had the inner ear thing, I was throwing up because it was like sea sickness, but the ENT gave me some exercises to do and they really help

Leosmit profile image
LeosmitGraduate1060minGraduate in reply toAnnieapple

Yes, was going to say about requesting a referral to ENT. Depending on type, sometimes it can be cured but it’s good to get it checked out officially.

Oh wow congratulations!!! 60 minutes running - I can’t wait until I can say that - only just started week 2 of 5-10K. Well done! I was happy with being able to run for 30 minutes but now I need something else to aim for

Leosmit profile image
LeosmitGraduate1060minGraduate in reply torunningnanny

Since graduating C25K, I always aim for 30 minutes. But I found that quite naturally, some runs, I tell myself to try another five minutes and maybe another five minutes or one more small loop, or one more street. It’s funny, when I know it’s ‘extra’ running, it’s always so much easier than the first 30 mins!!

SueAppleRun profile image

It’s a very exciting thing to do isn’t it? well done and you can get a 60 minute badge now

Thank you both! I’m going to wait until I’ve done a couple more 60 minutes. Need to prove to myself that is wasn’t a fluke!!
