Hi everyone! Apologies for the long post... Basically, I did park run on Saturday and realised afterwards that the top of my foot felt quite sore. Thought nothing of it really. Went out for an 8k Sunday and could feel it still wasnāt right straight away. I considered not carrying on, but thought Iām out now so I might as well just keep on going. Ever since Sunday morning my foot has continued feeling a bit sore etc but thereās been no bruising and Iām able to weight bare (uncomfortably) and all that, so I just carried on day to day as normal (10k steps average). I just thought that itās where my trainers were laced too tight. This evening, Iāve noticed a slight swelling across my foot and itās dawned on me that I think Iāve done some tendon damage š© I tore tendons in the same foot 2 years ago and I know theyāre not torn as I couldnāt put any weight on my foot at the time - it was horrendous. So at least itās not that bad. However the NHS website says to not run for 8 weeks. 8 WEEKS!! How on earth am I going to manage that? Iām supposed to do a 10k event in 3 weeks and a half in October. Iām absolutely gutted š¢
IC - gutted š¢: Hi everyone! Apologies for the... - Bridge to 10K

Oh no poor you fingers crossed that itās not actually as bad as you think it is. š¤
Donāt panic! I would certainly seek medical advice (GP, or sports physio if you donāt mind paying) and in the meantime ice it. It may not be as serious as youāre thinking š¤š¼But thereās only one way to find out. Good luck and I hope itās not as bad as you think š

I would go to see a sports physio. I strained a tendon in my foot just over 3 weeks ago and with some ultrasound, exercises and taping, Iāve been cleared to do my HM on Sunday!

How is the foot today?
Hi Leosmit. Sorry, I missed this. Itās still not 100% but better than it was. No more swelling thankfully. I havenāt run since Sunday and may do a bike session tonight instead. Iām sure the foot will be fine in a week or so šš¼
Thank you everyone! I havenāt run since Sunday. Although my foot is still quite tender, itās better than it was, so I think in a week or so I might be ok to start running again šš¼
