Ok so the last run I did was last Sunday! Iv had a lot going on including my driving test Thursday just gone (29th) which I failed š pissed me off so much!! I havenāt liked the thought of running for a while and Iām not sure why?
Iām sposed to be doing the 10k race for life at the beginning of June and the thought of running 10k worries me as iv lost all motivation to want to run.
I was into my 3rd week of bridge to 10k but that has fizzled out as last Sunday was just a 3k run I did!
Iām forcing myself out this morning to do a 5k.
Desperately trying to get myself back into it.

I find it's a bit of a paradox that life issues can undermine you and put you off running, but once you get out there, the run actually lifts you and makes you feel better. I've been demotivated a bit recently too - lack of sleep, stress, the constant snow and rain - but I never regret a run. Maybe go for a shorter one than 5k. I took a break from finishing week 4 of the 10k plan and did 3k yesterday and it gave me a real buzz. Just long enough to feel as if I was achieving something, but short enough not to be tiring and for me to get my pace and time up. It's a while till June, so you have time to get comfortable with 10k. Once you have done 7k, 8k is a piece of cake and 10k feels very close.
Thanks for the reply. Yes I think thatās whatās happened to me. I know itās the stress of life at the mo and I know wants iv done a good run I feel so much better xx thanks for your comment itās lifted me xxx
Yeah it totally was!! It was a classic case of my nerves took over me and everything went wrong in the last 10min which is a real blow because the first half a hour I did so well with only 1 minor and then right at the end I soaked a pedestrian with a puddle and then sat on a green light thinking about what I done š¤¦š¼āāļø
Sorry to hear that...life is such a bitch sometimes!!!i always find that running helps...no matter whats going on.maybe try not to focus too much on the 10k...just go out for a run...no apps...just run for you & see what happens.i hope things pick up for you soon š
Oh bunters!!! Sorry about the test... you will do it
Stick at this.. you are going to feel worse if you don't... Just maybe, as Hidden says ..pull back a tad... I have done a 10K plan repeat more than once and had moments when, I lost the path. Take a shorter run, a different route... set out, just to run, because you can and see what evolves.
Life can really throw stuff at us... but, the runs do help... April is always a tricky time for me and I know I use my runs to help me through...
Hi Megzy, it sounds like you have a case of Missing Mojo. It happens to many of us, Iāve experienced it a couple of times. If you search for mojo in the 5k forum and here youāll find several posts from people who have struggled similarly.
Try plotting a new route, get a new playlist with tunes you really want to hear, but donāt let yourself listen to them unless youāre running. If youāre a morning runner put your kit out the night before, and then itās all ready for you. Even if you donāt feel like running out your kit on. Once itās on you might as well get out the door and run.
Or try buying yourself a new item of running wear, then you have to run to get your moneyās worth out of it. I tell myself I have to run at least 1km for every Ā£1 spent ( not all at once obviously, so Ā£15 on a top means 3 lots of 5km or a 3k, 2k & 5km if you see what I mean).
Good luck finding your Mojo, (they can be quite cheeky hiding from us, like kids playing hide and seek, waiting patiently to be found š)itās just around the corner or under your shoes, or behind the back door, or lurking down a country lane. Iām sure youāll get it back soon.
Great advice.. particularly with reference to the new running gear... I definitely feel the need to take a look at some new shoes Then, as you say, I have to use them x
