Which of these trainers are best for running?

I want to buy some new running trainers from Skechers but I don't know if any of these would be suitable. What do you think? I know skechers have a range of 'go run' trainers but when I tried them on in the shop, they were all too loose around my ankles so i'd prefer more 'normal' trainers.

For running you need a proper running shoe. I’m not sure that the ones you list there are actually run shoes. It describes them as “trainers” and describes their style and comfort.

Skechers do running shoes, and I looked on sportsshoes.com, as they have quite a selection to choose from.

Have you been to a dedicated running shop? That would be a good starting point 🙂. Trying shoes on is the best idea Getting a good fit round the ankle can involve finding the “unused” hole at the top of the running shoe There’ll be a video on here showing what it’s for and how it’s laced up. Or the running shop would show you

Yep, as misswobble says you have to distinguish between running shoes and fashion trainers. As for which running shoes are best, that varies with the individual in terms of the amount and type of support and the amount of cushioning as well as the actual fit - everyone is an individual and whereas I don’t need support for over- or under-pronation in my shoes but do need lots of cushioning, the opposite might be true for someone else. Although it costs more, it’s well worth going to a proper running shop for your first pair. Once you know the degree of cushioning and type if support (if any) for your own running style, you might be able to wing it a bit later on but for your first pair get best advice from a shop where staff are runners themselves and know what they are doing.

Definitely go to a dedicated sports shop, or better still running shop. Sketchers are more fashion shoes and you dont want to waste money and risk injury. Happy running 🤗

Don't think sketchers are any good for running in. You need proper running shoes. You need your gait done too to get the right type. Try brooks, on, saucony, hoka or asics. Think they're the main brands.
