‘This morning is run day’ was the first thing I thought as my being was half in and half out of the land of nod...ugh, can I actually be bothered??? Despite the negativity at the thought of running for 30 mins as per my plan I pulled my running stuff on whilst jeeing the kids along trying to get them all motivated and ready for school etc which is like pulling teeth every morning!!! Making their breakfasts I’m looking out of the window trying to muster up some enthusiasm but, like a slice of toast in the toaster this morning, it was stuck fast inside, I really didn’t want to run...I can always put it off till tomorrow I thought...so that was what I decided, hopefully the park run will be back on after having being cancelled for the last 5/6 weeks...who am I kidding?? I’m not getting up on Sat, what if it’s snowing?? Today is perfect, look at the sun?!!! Come on Bev...that run is in there somewhere....but no, it wasn’t, I just wasn’t feeling it...so I bundled the kids in the car, well 2 of them the other one is upstairs, tucked up in bed with Cavanagh virus!! Kids safely at school and placement I got back home and decided that I was just going to go to Sainsbury’s and get on with my day so I collected up some carrier bags, got in my new car (that I absolutely love!!) and headed for shopdom...but I found myself going the other way...I was heading to the car park down by the canal!!!! I duly fed the ticket machine and before I knew it my headphones were on, my Garmin plan started on my watch and my feet were doing this springy kind of warm up walk!! 5 minutes later I was off...because it was a 30 min run I decided to do my graduation run so I had Mr Smooth talking to me every now and again, telling me how well I was doing...the sunshine was absolutely beautiful, there was frost on the ground, it was freezing but gosh, it was stunning...this run was going to be a good one I could feel it...before I knew it I was half way and Michael sounded his bell 🛎...wow, I am feeling good, I can actually keep going...and going...and going...and that’s what I did, I sucked up the sun and took in my surroundings it was so beautiful I had goose bumps, I was having a wonderful time, just me, the sun and the outdoors...I love feeling alive....soon I had only 2 minutes left according to my watch so I carried on, smiling my mornings at the dog walkers and the cyclists...then Michael announced that I only had 60 seconds left...then he announced I’d done, praised my progress and told me he was happy to have helped me, I remember how that made me feel when I heard it the first time ❤️...then my watch vibrated to say I’d finished but I have an optional 10 minute run...and my legs just carried on without me even having a say in the matter!!! 10 minutes soon gone...another vibrate from the watch to say I’d finished and that I had a 5 min cool down...which my legs decided they might as well run!!! Last vibrate from the watch and I slowed down, stopped a minute, took in that ‘Yey, I have just run for yonks’ feeling and decided that what happened this morning was the suns fault!!!! I just couldn’t resist the temptation of the sun at all!!!
Realising that I only had about another Km to get back to the car I started my watch again and ran it while I listened to Popmaster...when I got back to the car I was so happy with myself...
My last run was a bit meh...one of those runs that you complete but just don’t get any satisfaction out of, those hard slog runs, the ones that always have me questioning my ability but when I have a run like this one those thoughts vanish completely and I feel like a strong runner who could run all day!!!
I definitely feel like a runner today, not a fast runner, or a slow runner but a runner and I absolutely love it xxx
Have a lovely weekend everyone...Happy running

Congratulations, that was a great post from you and I am so pleased that you enjoyed your run, new car, wow, nice smooth journey in your new car whenever you go to a parkrun.
Not doing the Vitality Running World Cup, there are now over a 100 in the Healthunlocked team, if you wish to join the team you will be welcomed. 😊 🏃🏾
Just go to the Vitality World Running Cup Website, if you have signed up for it, either using your Username or real name it will show on the Healthunlocked team list, the latest number taking part when I last checked the list was 104, could be more, it goes up by the hour, I was looking at the number of teams taking part, about 5000, however, most teams don't have many runners in them, Healthunlocked is one of the biggest.
Ohhh Granspeed , it was a great start to the day, I do hope I’ve inspired someone to go out into the sunshine today too because you’re right, got to make the most of it!! x
Thanks Buddy34 , what a different story after that run eh?! I honestly could not be bothered but I was being called outside by the sun and I’m so happy for it! You have a great weekend too my friend x
Great run, you need to re-read this post next time you feel like missing a run. I guess the beauty of all the miserable weather we've had is that when the sun does break through we feel fantastic. Think of all those poor soles who haven't yet found the joy or a ability to run. 🤗
You paint such a vivid picture Bev...so glad you talked yourself in to it! 😁👍
Sounds like it was just perfect...it's been a couple of weeks since I've had a really good can't help but smile type of run, hoping it's my turn soon 😍
