Anyone doing the winter run? In London Sunday

Sorry nobody is doing that run on Sunday, because of Storm Ciara, sadly the run for safety reasons has been cancelled.

I used to go as a spectator to this run every year. I ran it one year but it is a great one to watch when it is on. Rfc x

Such a shame but you can't argue with a storm. I heard earlier that the royal parks will all be closed, they are obviously expecting a lot of storm damage and potential danger.

Its is a great event. If remember being on the start line and them asking anyone running with cancer put your hands up, so many did. So humbling. Rfc x

Hi RFC, yes those of us from the forums who were due to run have shared our disappointment but the overall feeling was that it was the right decision in the circumstances. It was clearly not a decision taken lightly and the organisers had been keeping us up to date with the implications of the weather forecast since the middle of the week. We are still able to earn our medals virtually and will be contacted next week about options re refund. I would also be happy to make a donation to Cancer research. Was really looking forward to this event - hopefully I will make it next year!🙂

It is tough for those making the decisions. I remember the Big Half two years ago emails all week and thinking it would be cancelled (it was the beginning of March when the Beast from the East was here). It went ahead in The end but if the snow and ice had not cleared I would not of done it. Safety always has to come first.

That was a great day, hard to believe I hadn’t even run a 5km then I was only working my way to it. It was great watching you and danzargo run across the finish line 😀. Brilliant memories of a fun day. Rfc x
