We had a good day yesterday and covered quite a good distance. Last night the wind got up and we were woken at 3.00am by it rattling the windows. Then, just as we were thinking we might go out, because theyโd finally started to open some lifts, the blizzard started and, as you can see, the visibility is a little limited! Now deciding whether to brave the weather just to go for a walk. Still, forecast for the rest of the week is for sunshine ๐๐

Funnily enough our walk finished with beer and chips ๐ Reckon weโd earned it - it is bitter out there and still blowing a gale! Fingers crossed for tomorrow ๐ค
Good luck for the rest of the week Sandie. We did brave the snow for half a day but it was ridiculous. We went down the same blue run about four times. The rest of the week, with the sun out, I felt I knew every inch of that run (including the bit where I went off piste by accident - was really funny being abe to see what I'd ended up in - nothing like as dramatic as it had felt at the time!). A walk, nice lunch and lazy afternoon is a good call!
Ah Linda there was no chance - only 10 lifts open all day and 4 of those were the beginnersโ moving carpets. The snow on its own might have been ok but 70kph winds. Even if they had been running, no way would I have got on a chairlift! Hoping for a real bluebird day tomorrow
Not sure a walk, let alone a run would be a good idea judging by the photo above, I assume it did not last long and you got your walk or run once the sun came out.
Al, it is still snowing but due to stop overnight ๐คso hoping to get out skiing tomorrow. We did manage a little walk, but only as far as a bar for beer and frites ๐บ๐ Still ended up looking like yetis ๐
Haha, weโre in Tignes in the French Alps! Itโs snowed all day and we have had about 40cm of fresh snow. Just keeping fingers crossed that the wind dies down and the snow stops as forecast tomorrow so we can go and play ๐
When we had weather like that in Tignes, UTS said I skied better when I couldnโt see how steep it was ahead. ๐๐ I remember skiing from one lollipop to the next. A bit scary.
