So I didn’t listen to advice on here, ran more than I should and now have a hip injury. Am so annoyed 😑 with myself of course. I went straight onto 5210k training once graduating, and pushed it to the max. Stupid me!!!! Injured my hip last week , rested a little bit clearly not enough as yesterday at park run I ran 36 minutes in pain just thinking slow down. I am now limping ..... ahhhhh!!! Can’t believe
A I have actually become addicted to runnng
And
B I just would not listen
I realise I will have to rest completely and will seek doctors advise this week. From internet, it seems I have pulled or strained a hip muscle
🧐😣😢

Hopefully you will be as right as rain in 2 weeks. Just rest, time will heal. Don’t run at all for a couple of weeks. Then start light training for 5K. Build it back up slowly. Run no more than 5K for a couple of months, consolidate and get used to running 5K. Concentrate on 5K training 2x times during the week and do parkrun on Saturday. 5K x 3 times per week. Do this for a few months before trying to increase distance. When you do start increasing distance pick one 5K run day and make this your long run. Just add 500 meters per week onto this run.
I’ve been running now for 3 years. I’ve learnt the hard way too. Listen to your body and don’t try to do too much too soon.
Rest is the key. Check out chair cardio or floor exercises that you can probably do without aggravating your hip for now. Its always better to do what you can so that you stop yourself going nutso!
As soon as you get the right advice do your exercises or whatever they give you religiously.
You'll get back to it, don't worry, but hopefully you'll take it a bit steadier 👍🏻
Sometimes it's difficult to back off. It's a learning curve. I ran on a dodgy calf several times and ended up in sports physio.....its not admitting defeat to rest up. Its losing one battle to win the fitness war 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah I can see that now 😳thankfully 😆today I’m just taking it easy and doing some really good hip muscle exercises from you tube which are really helping 👍🏻👍🏻
