First Mikkeller run

This is apparently a Danish idea, a brewery started a running group where you go for a run then get a free beer after. The local group to me have been going about 7 months and I’ve managed to not be available everytime they’ve run up to now. The bar is a small “tap” called The Beer Shed that does a good range of beers. Loads of people stayed for a few more beers after and the organisers bring sandwiches and crispy snacks to eat after the run.

The run itself was a 5k, mostly on road with some converted railway trail thrown in. As everywhere round here it was hilly! Really cold, so I ran home afterwards...full of 3.5 pints and a fist full of sandwiches. Hic.

If you have one of these near you, and if you enjoy chatty company and beer after a run, it’s worth trying.

What a lovely bunch of happy smiley runners! Sounds like you had a great time Jay - although not sure I would have been able to run home afterwards!!

🙂

Hi Jay, that looks great. I love the idea of a beer and sandwiches at the end!😋👍🍻 Sadly I don’t think the concept has arrived in south London yet, but no doubt our running friends🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏃 will tell me if it has!😀

That sounds really cool! Especially the run home - bet you needed the loo as soon as you got in (I would've!) 😂 Seven months of happiness right there, shining out of that photo!

Mikkeller beers are great! Didn't know their beer running club was a thing in the UK, this needs further investigation 🤣🍺
