Wednesday mornings and dodging showers

I nearly qualified as a wet weather runner this morning, the heavens opened just before I left the house. Then the blue skies arrived 👍. It was nice to drop back down to 5k after my last outing..... Probably going from 5k to 7.5k was too big an increase in distance.... But having said that the 5k did seem that much easier for it. It was easier to find a nice pace, this running lark is a learning curve..... And every day's a school day....

Given I like the single rest day between runs and it's park run on Saturday..... What to do on Friday do I run do I rest....

Great running Imc50 . If your planning to go to parkrun on Saturday maybe don't run until then . 😊😊🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Cheers buddy, but that's my problem, the old legs work well running alternative days, during my c25k I ran on Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays but after Saturday and Sunday off the Monday was always such a slog to get back into the rhythm 😯

Mmm it’s tricky isn’t it? I like to do my longer run on a Sunday, but I’ve been considering a parkrun - and unlike you, I definitely need at least a days rest, two is even better! 🤔 So much to learn!

Running on consecutive days is certainly not advisable when doing C25K, this is the B210K forum, I assume that you have graduated from C25K, I notice also that you ran a sub 30 minute 5k at 28.49, congratulations, so you could perhaps go for a short run, say no more than 3K on the Friday before Saturday morning's parkrun, but take the 3K slowly, but I still think it would be better to make that Friday a rest day from running.

Hi Almor yes I graduated c25k, I only ran consecutive day's the once just to get my days in sync, I like the alternative run rest pattern, so Friday I'll maybe take your advice perhaps do a short one just to keep ticking over

I read your profile, I just hope that you never need an ambulance after any of your runs, as far as I know, no one in C25K or B210K as ever needed an ambulance.

Wise words Almor I knew I needed to do something, and that was reword my profile text 👍

Happy running

Cycle!

I'm exactly the same, every other day and the rest day is needed.... I personally work to the beat of my own drum, I'd knock park run on the head.... that of course is just me, I like my routines & stick to them as it's got me to knocking out half marathons on a Sunday (for fun.... weird i know) from starting out with C25K.

I look forward to welcoming you to the wet club at some point... I was drenched yet again Weds morning at 5am :o)
