Has anybody had a problem with their medial ligament? Am 9 weeks in since something ‘went’ in the back of my knee with a distinct pop, now the pain has moved to my ML and isn’t improving, went to a physio last week and the exercises have made it worse for some reason? I’m 50 and been running for almost 2 years and am desperate to get back to running but can’t get any stability in my knee. Any advice welcome

Sounds like you need a second opinion. Might be worth a visit to the GP. I'm a huge fan of physios and the results they get but it's always possible that this one has got it wrong.

Get expert advice!!! My husband had the same problem two years ago & he went to a physio & was given exercises & the GP gave him steroid injection. However it had never been the same. I wish that he had been referred to a specialist!

I suggest you get it looked at, particularly as the initial problem could have been your ACL, which is notoriously difficult.
Medial ligament injuries are usually caused by twisting. I have had one. It started with three weeks of being barely being able to walk, never mind run; another couple of months of trying and struggling to run when I probably should not have; and a permanent loss of a minute per kilometre of pace even once I had the range of movement and strength back. I will never know whether I would have lost the pace if I had rested and rehabbed it properly at the beginning. Unfortunately I was due to fly to Cuba 36 hours after injuring myself and had little choice but to limp around for the 3 weeks I was out there.
Good luck, it’s a nasty injury.
Thank you for your replies looks like a trip to the gp is in order 🤞 they give me some answers
