Strictly not 10K related but as I’ve spent most of my post c25k and parkrun journey on here I wanted to share... I completed my volunteer milestone on Saturday 4th Jan. Received my email to claim my t-shirt on Tuesday and it arrived today (Thursday). I will wear this with pride!
Volunteer roles have included first timers briefing, token sorting, run report writer, tail walker, event setup, event course check and timekeeper.
Well done! Looking forward to seeing a picture of you with it in action
I will wear it at tomorrow’s parkrun 🙂

Yay! I've got the same email somewhere but I'm only 2x parkruns away from the 50 milestone. I've delayed claiming it as I can save on the postage 😃😅😂🤣

Funnily enough, although I am looking forward to the 50, it’s the 100 that I really want!
I have a feeling that they cannot bundle t-shirts into a single shipment. Something to do with them being linked to the barcodes, I think.
Or it maybe that they can't ship to different people in the same consignment. It is a long time since I read about it (when I was considering trying to Tailwalk my 25th volunteer on the same day as my 100th run. That plan fell apart because we did too many tourist runs )

Which is your favourite job so far?
Thank you so much. My favourite role is first timers briefing as I get to meet and greet visitors and first timers. It’s a social role, very interactive and sometimes they clap at the end 👏👏👏
I want to try Marshal, Photographer, Barcode Scanning and Funnel Manager too.

It’s a fantastic feeling isn’t it JaoJao?! I’m very proud of my volunteer t-shirt and will be wearing it tomorrow to scan barcodes! Wearing it to run at Parkrun is also fun, especially when you’re right at the back like I am! Well done you - happy volunteering!
It’s a great feeling yes 🙂 I feel happy to be a part of parkrun at a time in my life I needed some grounding and structure to my weekends. It’s done wonders for my mental and physical wellbeing.

Take it you're next PR goal is for your 50 milestone t-shirt.. I got mine mostly volunteering at Junior Parkrun marshalling and senior PR as photographer & tail walker.
As someone who is only a short way into Parkrunning (eight completed so far) I'm very appreciative and thankful of what Parkrun is and the volunteers who make it happen, So, congratulations on the shirt and thanks to you and all the other volunteers.
I am volunteering for the first time tomorrow (marshal) - hopefully the first of many
Thank you RunSkipHobble, parkrun is a great way to motivate your running and it’s social too which is a bonus. I hope you enjoy doing Marshal tomorrow, I’ve yet to try that. Volunteering is really rewarding and makes me just as happy as running.

You must have lots of parkrunners at your parkrun to do funnel manager.
620 last Saturday! But anything over 300 needs looking after pretty carefully ....

Congratulations jaojao! That is one T-shirt to be very proud of. It is excellent that you have given your own time to help others run. It’s also so gratifying to be able to support others. You can make the tasks your own too. I bought a tambourine so I can shake that when marshalling. It brings a smile to people’s faces.
My target is to earn one by the end of the year.
I have definitely added my little touch to the first timer's briefing, I tend to do it on a very regular basis. I have heard a few parkrun's use a tambourine, I might trythat at our local one. Thanks for the idea!
You can do it by the end of the so easily. Even if you parkrun, token sorting and run report writing are good ones to do to build up volunteer credits quickly.

How did the T-shirt go today JaoJao!
It looked really good, I wore it over a long sleeve top, it looked very fashionable. One of the run directors also got his v25 t shirt this week so we enjoyed a celebration hug! I will be wearing it loads more I’m sure in the coming weeks 👍 It was a special morning at parkrun ❤️ and I took cake and chocolates for people to enjoy at the rugby club house after the parkrun. Great fun morning
