Christmas Running pt. 2

So I have just finished the final run of my Christmas holiday - and though I missed runs on two days (see pt. 1) I have managed 15 runs over the 17 days.

I was hoping that today's run might be a leisurely long one - but a busy day ahead meant it had to be pretty short. So I went out and did pretty much the exact same run that I did on the first day of the holidays - a short jog around the block - and my average km pace is 30 seconds faster, yet it felt much easier 😊.

Photo is from a run closer to Christmas but think the blue sky sums up how I'm feeling more than today's grey!

Feel as though the hoped for 'reset' has happened and am feeling positive about running all over again and at least part of that has been down to touching base with you all on here again (New Year's resolution to check in at least once a week!)

Hoping also to cover 1000k this year (fingers crossed that niggly knees behave) and would love to finally run a sub 30 minute 5k before my 3 year C25K graduation anniversary in November.

Just need to find the time and enthusiasm when I'm back at work....

Happy New Year running to you all 😊

Happy New Year Deb!

Well done on your Christmas holiday running challenge, and what a bonus result!

Your positivity is inspiring, I am looking forward to setting that reset button as soon as possible.

Looking forward to reading about your running this year, and seeing you make your goals.

I hope the new school term starts off smoothly. 2020! 😊xxx

Thank you Jan. Not sure I'm always that positive - spend a lot of time moaning about work! However I am feeling good about my running again at the moment after being a bit down in the dumps in December. Hope that this kick start into the New Year will keep me going until the lighter evenings are back to inspire me! Hope you're back on your running legs soon too 😊 x

15 running days out of 17 that's amazing. I'm like you and would like to reach 1000k this year as I reached 780k in 2019. Happy new year to you to 😊😊

And to you too!

I managed just under 700 this year - but had a dodgy knee earlier in the year and had to be a bit careful. Think I'll have to put in mini-streaks like this Christmas one during all my holidays if I'm going to do it though. We'll that or start running much further than 10k on a regular basis 😱

Wishing you luck too! I'll be much more convinced I can do it when there is a lot less mud around πŸ™„. Happy running.

It's been great Richard - now just have to maintain it until the Spring comes and rescues me. Not a fan of February and I am definitely a fair weather runner!

Thank you. This term cannot possibly be busier than last so I'm hoping to be able to keep up the running more easily.

Wow! I'm impressed by your dedication. Glad you were able to keep up with your running challenge during the hols and hope it will give you the drive to keep going next term. At least we're past the shortest day and Spring is just around the corner... Have a good term! πŸ™‚

Can't wait for it to feel a bit lighter in the evenings. Have arranged to start work a bit later one morning a week (part of a MH initiative) this half term so I can get a morning run in. We'll see how it goes!

Just seen your Poldark running - looks amazing. I ran in Botallack this summer - just lovely 😊

Hope the Spring term goes well!
