I’ve only had this watch a day and I love it no need for your phone as I have my Garmin connected to Strava only thing you can message on it only if your phone is an android not on Apple but that’s no big problem as I wouldn’t do that on my watch it’s the second day and I’m on 65% but the brightness is on 100% which does effect the battery I’m going to have a mess with it and I will tell you what I think when I’ve had it a month 😉👍XX

What a great looking watch Kevtrev i'm so pleased you finally got your tech after months of researching and looking out for a bargain. I am interested in the battery life for sure as i've seen mixed performances on the customer reviews across all garmin models. I get about 7 days out of my fitbit inspire but it's not running watch and no GPS. Let us know how you get on :)

For info, I get a good week from my Garmin forerunner 35 wearing it 24/7. Recharges very quickly

KevtrevGraduate10 in reply toGrannyhugs

That’s good do you have the settings on standard 😉

Grannyhugs profile image
GrannyhugsGraduate10 in reply toKevtrev

No idea, switched off the move alert, reset my max HR as mine is high but left rest as was

Kevtrev profile image
KevtrevGraduate10 in reply toGrannyhugs

How do you get the move alert off it’s rude 😂

KevtrevGraduate10 in reply toJaoJao

Thank you JaoJao it is nice and comfy and it’s not heavy a must is a screen protector as Ian clumsy. I should of got it before Black Friday as it was £138.00 I paid £163.99 never mind but I wasn’t going to wait any longer just shows you on some products you don’t get a deal

I will do JaoJao but I have my settings on the highest so battery won’t be as good so I’m going to have a mess and put it on in-between and lowest.

Take care JaoJao ❤️XX

I typically get a couple of days on a single charge. The more you use the GPS to track the quicker that it uses the battery. I think my record is about 4 days if I don't log any GPS activities. Charges quickly and as I don't use the sleep monitor, I tend to just do it overnight in any event, so it's no big deal.

Oh a new Garmin it's just as good as getting new shoes. I'm sure you'll love it as much as I love my Garmin 35😊⌚

Kevtrev profile image
KevtrevGraduate10 in reply toBuddy34

Yes thank you Buddy much better than the one I had haha but it was just to see if I needed a Garmin but they are the best 😉👍

I ordered the smaller 4s and impatiently waiting delivery, pleased to see you love yours

Kevtrev profile image
KevtrevGraduate10 in reply toSueAppleRun

Very nice but another £95 I can’t justify it but good on you and enjoy your lovely Garmin 😉👍

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply toKevtrev

I couldn’t justify it really but the smaller face is less noticeable at work and my birthday is coming up so i got a lump of money to go towards it

I’m impatient for it to arrive, i tried to buy locally but all out of stock so ordered on amazon and now it’s held up in transit will be here soon enough

That’s good spending it right on a great watch and happy birthday to you I’m one for a bargain when I can but I’m spending my birthday and Christmas money on the watch and some designer clothes with the other £100

They are and that’s why i took so long to decide, i’m not an athlete i’m not really serious about running i just go out a few times a week and run, but i do love stays 😀

Enjoy yours and the new clothes too

I'll have had mine for a year in about a week, and I still think it's great. I still carry my phone with me because I run alone, but I connect via Bluetooth and operate the music app from my wrist.

Kevtrev profile image
KevtrevGraduate10 in reply tosTrongFuse

It’s a fantastic watch and not a bad price mine isn’t music one I’m to concentrated on my running and I’m training for half a marathon this year so better battery on the none music 😉😂

sTrongFuse profile image
sTrongFuseGraduate10 in reply toKevtrev

Mine isn't the music one either, but it has a music control widget that you can add. I've done a HM with mine, so you shouldn't have any problems on the tech front.

Kevtrev profile image
KevtrevGraduate10 in reply tosTrongFuse

Right so I can play music on it is that right?

sTrongFuse profile image
sTrongFuseGraduate10 in reply toKevtrev

You connect it to your phone/ipod via Bluetooth and control the volume, pause, skip etc. on the phone's music app from the watch.

The music version allows you to store mp3 files on the watch, so you can leave your phone at home, but as I mentioned, I always carry mine when running in case of emergency, so playing the music on my phone and controlling it from my watch is fine an meant I was able to save about £50 on buying the music version.

Well you may wear as we say in Ireland when someone buys a new car.😀 Makes more sense when it’s a Garmin Running watch. Looks fab, very nice. Enjoy it.

Thank you Damien I do like it especially that it’s a Garmin watch I stayed away from the music kind only thing it will do is drain the battery faster 😂

damienair profile image
damienairAdministrator in reply toKevtrev

Yes. It’s nice to have loads of bells and whistles, but if your not going to use them, there is no need. I’ve got so used to running without music that I actually much prefer it. Especially at a road race or a parkrun, I now just run and soak up the atmosphere. If I really want to listen to music I can just bring my phone. But you won’t go wrong with a Garmin watch. The accuracy and ease of use is fantastic. I have a Forerunner 35, it’s perfect, I love it and wear it as an everyday watch.

Kevtrev profile image
KevtrevGraduate10 in reply todamienair

Yes I totally agree with you Damien plus I run with club so no one listens to music at a race you won’t and park run I just concentrate on my running no point having extra tech if you are not going to use it 😉 I probably will use it for an everyday watch also do you use it for sleep analysis?

damienair profile image
damienairAdministrator in reply toKevtrev

No. Not even step counting or Heart Rate. I generally just use mine to monitor pace and distance when I’m running. I know when I’ve had a good nights sleep, a watch won’t tell me anything different to what my body will.😀

Kevtrev profile image
KevtrevGraduate10 in reply todamienair

Yes think that’s all I will be using it for do you know how to get the annoying move of the watch

damienair profile image
damienairAdministrator in reply toKevtrev

If you go into Garmin Connect on a PC you can turn off all the annoying move alerts and set the watch up to do everything you need it to do just for you. There are some YouTube video’s which will help you.

I got Forerunner 645 music just after Christmas amd so impressed with it - so many options and like you, got it on sale for 'only' £199😂

If anyone told me I'd be spending that sort of money on the watch I'd laugh! Garmin design n the outside (very light, comfortable and good looking) as well as inside i.e. various options available plus the app, are fantastic.

It's hard to know how much battery would last as I was laying with it quite a bit and used gps. But looks that it would be few days - e.g. I charged it o Thursday, didn't use gps since and showing 70%battery as I type.

Enjoy the runs with the new piece of tech! It's so exciting😄

Mr Cheeky has the same one Kev. He loves it - but secretly I was hoping he wouldn’t so I could pinch it! 😅

Have fun playing with it. Let us know how you get on after a few runs. 🏃🏃🏃

KevtrevGraduate10 in reply tocheekychipmunks

I will do Mr Cheeky 😂 fancy that having the same one and yes I will let you know how I get on with it 😉👍

Very nice watch to expensive for me even at that price I did see that watch at Argos for that price but it’s still a lot of money but you enjoy it.

And thank you yes now I have my first Garmin I’m happy better than the Huawei one I had plus the screen was to small to look at whilst running so it’s going on eBay 😉

Plus it’s cost me Nothing as I’m using my Birthday money and Christmas money and Vouchers so I have money to spend on some designer clothes 😂

Katnap profile image
KatnapGraduate10

I get around 7 to 9 hours GPS active time from a full charge and 4 to 5 days generally. The more vibration alerts and screen backlight on time, the less battery life you will have.

🎉🐱 New Year's Katnap 🐱🎉

KevtrevGraduate10 in reply toKatnap

Thank you for that messages are being stopped on it haha 😂 happy new year 🥳

Katnap profile image
KatnapGraduate10 in reply toKevtrev

The display is good in daylight so I started at 80% light and it's now at 60%. This seems to work for me in dim and dark conditions.

I will keep that in mind thank you 😉
