Did my first ever parkrun this morning as a birthday present to myself. Had to be dragged out of bed by the husband as I had really gone off the idea at 6:30am ๐ But we got there in time and I actually really enjoyed it ๐ Everyone was very friendly and it was a lovely atmosphere.
My Garmin didnโt start at the start line ๐ and it only recorded 4.10k so my Garmin time is 26:39 but my โofficial timeโ was 33.02, so Iโll take that one as a win ๐คฃ
Yay, so glad you enjoyed it Rhedeg. We told you you would, didnโt we?! ๐๐๐ Great time too. I always start my Garmin when they say go, as I start at the back with my dog and it makes the PR official time slightly more accurate in comparison - but not very! I donโt care. ๐
Happy birthday and Happy 2020. ๐๐๐โโ๏ธ
Well done and I hope you enjoy many more. I always click my garmin on during the walk down to parkrun so it can find the gps. It then finds it quicker when you switch it on to standby during the briefing.
I start mine when I cross the start line as I only want the running time. But others do it from go so they can check it with the parkrun time. The choice is yours.
It is difficult when you have children doing different activities at weekends but I hope you can get there occasionally. Or take the kids to junior parkrun so they learn to like it too.
