New PB 28:19 (watch time - will update when I get official time) EDIT no need to update official time exactly the same
Super pleased as my previous PB of 30:00 was a real struggle where I had to walk twice. No stopping today!!
My new Garmin watch really helped as I could see what pace I was doing. Even though the last km felt hard I didn't slow either so really pleased about that.
Unbelievably chuffed with my progress and still can't quite believe how much I enjoy running x

(Iโm still in that place where I just run, with no clue what pace it is, not any real clue how to control it beyond the obvious โjust go a bit faster/slowerโ.)
Only just inside the Army time with that pace. The last musician to complete it from my band did the 1.5 miles in 10:30ish - I'll be right at the back on my current pace ๐
It's all relative Beth. Although I hadn't run before couch25k I was quite fit - working out 5 days a week. The thing I love most about running is that you don't have to compete against anyone but yourself x
Ive had a stomach bug for about 10days now so only been doing comfortable 5kโs so will hopefully be back on it properly next week. Ive decided to push the 5ks for a while during the hot weather (going go be red hot for a while not condusive to my running) may find a couple of horrible hills to gallop up too. Keep at it your doing great.
Oh no - poor you! I've been doing all my running recently at a comfortable pace but as I didn't have my son with me for Parkrun this morning I thought I'd push on a bit and see how it went. Glad I did because it was, surprisingly, quite comfortable. Enjoy your hills
Yes thanks. Pleased to say that Iโm now back to my post grad consolidation runs but Iโm on a wedding weekend in London so a few days off. My youngest niece and her boyfriend made it to a London Parkrun but I didnโt want to ruin the hairdo!
Excellent work and a great time. I also tried a park run today for the second time ever lol. Got a PB but not surprising seeing as the first time was back in december just after I graduated. Still great fun and a lot busier in the sunshine
Fab Tash! It's funny isn't it - when I ran my 30:00 it was so hard. I enjoyed it afterwards because I was pleased with the time but it was horrible for the last 1500 metres. Today it all came together and the last 500 metres or so was tough but still enjoyable x
I know! I canโt tell how anything is going really! I tried to take it easy today and didnโt go for a PB so I was pleased. Pacers week next week. Iโll try pushing that one ๐ณ
My Apple Watch but to be honest, I run at the pace I feel I can run at so looking at my watch is neither here nor there. I do look at it but donโt adapt anything really. My ParkRun is also 5.12k so actually Iโm closer to sub 30 5k than it seems ๐ How unjust.
Haha! They don't seem to be particularly accurately measured. The organisers of our Parkrun go to lots of different ones and report back often with distances over 5k.
I only did 4.99k today according to my Garmin. Mind you I did cut across the corner of the children's play area rather than running round it so it might be that
Super speedy, super musician, super mum and defender of the peace that keeps us safe at night! 28 minutes! Youโre going to have to get very comfy waiting for me to arrive!!
