Hey Magic Gang!!!

Oops, sorry this is late ๐Ÿ™„

It's so exciting!! Here we are in Week 7 - only two weeks left to go!!!

Please share your progress in the comments below! I hope you will enjoy this week as you repeat the 9K from last week and get focused on your goal. If you are doing an earlier week keep on running strongly. ALL OF YOU ARE AMAZING!!! ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—

So, did anyone have a go at push-ups last week?

See the pinned INFO POST for all the Magic Running Plan details, and useful links ๐Ÿ˜Š

healthunlocked.com/bridgeto...

โ˜…โ˜… THIS WEEKโ€™S RUNS WILL BE:

Distance runs (to be completed in any length of time, and in any order you wish)

โ˜… 4 km

โ˜… 5 km

โ˜… 9 km

Timed runs (for those not yet ready to do the distances in the 10k Plan. Can be run in any order)

โ˜… 20 minutes

โ˜… 30 minutes

โ˜… 55 minutes

Please make sure you are warm before exercising ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

โ˜…โ˜… THIS WEEK'S STRENGTH MOVE IS... BALANCE!!!

Something a little different this week! Balance work is arguably one of the most important fitness tools for EVERYONE!!

As we age, we often start to lose our balancing skills, and this can lead to falling down and serious injury. And as runners of all ages, we must consider that we are actually spending most of our time on one foot!

โ˜… Here is a deceptively simple balancing exercise from the ultramarathoner Sally McRae. This workout can be done every time you put on your shoes! Give it a try - you may find you wobble around like crazy at first! But I'd like you particularly to notice how your core muscles come into play as you do it.

โ˜… And why not have another go at the STRENGTH ROUTINE we talked about last week!

โ˜…โ˜… STRUGGLES AND HOW TO REMEMBER TO REMAIN POSITIVE

I have noticed that some of you are struggling with running at the moment - probably are a bit too busy with end-of-the-year stuff! If you're not feeling so good about running, or life in general, remember that you can only do your best at any time, and your best is wonderful!!

โ˜…โ˜… Have a fabulous holiday-time, or if you're not on holiday I send you extra fairy dust and love joy ๐Ÿฅฐ Enjoy your running!

Gutted as my run was planned to do going for the 9 k my fit bit told me it was in 9 and I thought Iโ€™d nailed it got home strava said 4:8 miles not quite 9 k so reckon about 7:5 k so annoyed but hey ho at least itโ€™s a run took me an hour so decided to do the timed run thing now .. do you then move onto the k weekly plan after doing timed if you are slow ?

You can do that if you want to - you wouldn't really need to start at Week 1 though ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

Have you run for 60 minutes before? I can give you a 60 minute Graduate badge if you like!

If you can use Strava on a desktop or laptop computer, have a look at their route builder. You can map out a 9k (or whatever) route with that, and then you wouldn't have to rely on your Fitbit to tell you when you've run the distance you want:

And well done!!! xxx

Thatโ€™s handy yeah I ran for 60 mins plus doing 8 k 10 days ago does the timed one work better for slower runners then ?

I think it's helpful for slower runners because it gives them a good target to work towards, which they can fit more easily into their lives because it doesn't take up so much of their time - and a solid plan that should help them get faster eventually.

Well done thatโ€™s great but I understand how frustrated you must feel if you thought you had gone further.

I havenโ€™t used strava bit will look it up. I use map my run and find it really good and it tells me as I go along how far iโ€™ve done which I really like.

Keep going youโ€™re doing so well.

Merry Christmas everyone! And special thanks to Roseabi for all your support and putting these posts up :)

So I did my long run this morning, even though I technically still haven't done the 30 min run from last week (I managed 12 mins but had my friends dog with us who decided that more than that was just unmanageable - he wasn't wrong though, it was hot and humid and I was struggling too). But Ill make that one up some other time :P

Im pretty excited though, I am only 5 mins away from running for an entire hour! Will probably still be only around 8k at most, but thats still more than I have ever run before! And I am on track to complete this run on new years eve, which I think will be great :)

And now that it is getting so close, I am starting to think about what is next - I am thinking that I will just immediately start the plan again, but doing the distance rather than time. That way I will have a bit of a step back to slowly work my way back up again....
