Hello wonderful people, we are now in week 2 of the December Vibe quest. This is my new friend Brian who I met in the woods 🐐

How are you doing, are you sticking to your plan?

This month is a busy time for many people, and it can feel overwhelming trying to be super organised and do everything. With that in mind, my suggestion for this month is one of the following:

πŸ¦‹Something for you..... to take a moment, help you relax, de stress etc. For example this might be going for a massage, practicing mindfulness, yoga, going for a nature walk or just making time to be still and in the moment.

🌍 Try something new.... this could be anything.... but go out of your comfort zone to do something that you might not have before. For example for November I’ve been learning how to disco roller skate 😬

⚑️ A goal, which could be fitness / running related. For example to run 3 times a week, reach for a new PB, climb Mount Everest etc

Of course, you may wish to do ALL of them πŸ¦‹πŸŒβš‘οΈ

The Quest takes one calendar month. You can join at any point during that time.

I recommend that you are a C25K Graduate before joining the Quest. The reason for this your week is very much structured according to the C25K programme, and I wouldn't want the Quest to interfere with that.

I hope you have a great week,

Happy Panthering

πŸ¦‹ I had an amazing Indian head massage yesturday, it really chilled me out.

🌍 I ran a mile yesturday in barefoot, it was actually really amazing, and I loved the feeling of the squelchy mud.

⚑️ I am doing okay on my plan to run at least a 5k a day for December. But my focus this week is on my weights.

Hello ju-ju- , I said I wanted to get to 10k which I did on Monday. So my plan is to do a 10k each Monday of December.

Love the photo of Brian he's beautiful 🐐🐐

Hi ju-ju- , I have had quite a good week, having some sad news has put a dampener on things but actually makes you realise what and who are important...and also that it is so important to live life to the fullest. I ran on Monday, a wonderful 5k, then on wed/thurs I was at a spa for a friends birthday which was so relaxing...the mud chamber was so good. I've only stayed away from my kids 3 times in their whole lives so I was a bit apprehensive but they were with their Dad so all was good. I so enjoyed the quiet time and I had a lovely massage and fit some swimming in and a dip in the hot tub so this week I feel like I'm on track. Starting to panic a bit as the month races on to the big day so I am still aiming at running 3 times a week and seeing all the yoga you're doing, I'm going to give that a go too. Thanks Ju, loving the quest xx

Sorry about your news xxx

Mud chamber???

Mummycav profile image
MummycavAdministratorGraduate10 in reply to roseabi

Thankyou roseabi, yes mud chamber, a room for 4 people where you get shut in, given a bowl of mud to spread on yourself, left to cook for 25 mins in the boiling hot heat and then tropical rain comes from the ceiling! X

I am so sorry, it sounds like youve had a tough time. And you are so right, it certainly puts things in perspective. And well done on your running, but I especially love the Spa break, that sounds wonderful. Great you are going to give the yoga a go, that will be fabulous xx

I’m on holiday and decided to bring my running gear to give me some headspace! Had a beautiful run through Central Park which chilled me out nicely! I say β€˜run’ but I stopped so often to take photos that it was more of a stroll πŸ˜„ x

How exciting to run through Central Park, I would be doing the same and stopping constantly for the pics!

Middling week with a run - a bit of a sad one as it was where someone died in our recent floods, but I got to use my birthday earpod so could listen to something for the first time in ages, didn't squeeze in a swim and some but not so much yoga.

A good hand of wild cards this week - rooftop tour of Hardwick Hall (good exercise going up the stairs), theatre, and today the seals at Donna Nook.

Hi ju-ju- and everyone! My quest is to continue with my 30 days of yoga, which will bring me up to Christmas Eve. I love yoga and used to do it regularly before starting running, but it was put on the back burner a bit this year as running took over! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Still, I’m back to doing both now, so happy days. πŸ˜€

I’m also intent on running one of my weekly runs out of my comfort zone. I can pootle far too easily! So I’ll be working on getting faster on hills, or continuing with my new-found β€œlove” of intervals. Jury’s out which one it’ll be this morning - the wind is howling outside. 😳😩

ju-ju- profile image
ju-ju-Graduate10 in reply to cheekychipmunks

Yay that all sounds great. I really enjoy doing intervals, but only once every couple of weeks or so as they are really draining. Well done!

Thanks! I did my yoga earlier and I’ve just finished a run at Ashton Court where I incorporated intervals when I got to the top of the hill! Lots of fun. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

My week on the IC has paid off as my knee has calmed down a lot. I did my wall squats and tricky exercises 3 times (only). I even had a sports massage. So I’ll be venturing out mid week for a gentle 3.5km. And depending on how that goes, maybe a 5km at the weekend. I was timekeeper at parkrun. Oh that’s fun but stressful. Better get those seconds correct or πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ€―πŸ˜‘

I love goats 😍😍😍

🌍 My quest is to try something new, doing all my runs this month at a very easy pace averaging 125 bpm heart rate.

Well, I'm finding this heart rate rubbish a bit hard πŸ˜‚ I managed quite well with my first run, a 5K before breakfast, but for the second run, a 10K a bit later in the morning, I failed to keep the HR down as low as intended. It occurred to me part-way through the run that my HR might have been elevated due to having had a coffee, so I sort of gave up at that point 😊 My last run was another 10K, again after coffee. and someone I know said hello to me just as I was setting off which distracted me and made me go off too fast (it didn't help that the chap is a 18 minute parkrunner πŸ™„) so I had no chance of averaging 125 bpm for that one. But still, all the runs were very slow and easy which is the main thing.

Have a great week, Ju and all!! xxx

I am impressed! I have started doing two zone 2 runs a week to make sure I recover properly as running every day can take its toll. I averaged 137 today ( my zone 2) and it was really lovely to go so gently. Good luck on those gentle runs, I know they will pay off as part of your training plan... Have a great week too XXX

This month my aim is to do a minimum of 2 runs per week - it's a big drop from November where i was getting in 3 or 4 - but given how much the dark mornings have knocked me this last two weeks - I figure i would be kind to myself and take the pressure off. If i manage more runs then that is a happy bonus :-)

Pilates is now finished until after Christmas so need to find an alternative to fit in, i will be searching youtube later :-)

Not addressed my specific quest target yet, but very happy on Saturday morning :-) with a 4-year-best watch time for Southsea parkrun at 23'40". Less happy on Saturday evening :-( when a humdinging cold appeared out of nowhere - over the worst now but, assuming things follow their usual course, I won't be running until next week :-(

Onwards and upwards, hanky at the ready ….

My something for me was a run... both my parents ended up in hospital last week end, work load meant I worked all week end, manic Christmas things and lots of home stress meant that Monday evening I just went running. I did not warm up enough i just ran from the door (I paid for that Tuesday) i ran just short of 6k and felt much better on my return.

health wise i aim to get back weight training 2 times a week and run 3 and I aim to lose some flab as i am fatter as a runner than i was as a HIIT and Weights man!!! no heavier just flabbier. so its put some muscle back on time. from tomorrow i will watch the calories like i used to, I aim to stick to 1300 per day for 6 out of each 7 days.
