Week 6 complete

Another mixed but good week.

It started on Sunday with a great 9k (which was planned as an 8k). I had lots of encouragement and advice from lovely people on here. The weather was perfect - cold but sunny.

My 5k was done during my lunch break to avoid the early morning ice. Again a lovely sunny day but I found it a tough run for some reason and it was rather a rush. Glad I tried it though.

Yesterday’s 4k was again another new experience in that I joined a gym for three months to help me through the winter. I’m happy to run in the cold, wet and dark but not icy conditions.

I have to admit I didn’t enjoy running on a treadmill. It was incredibly hot in the gym and with nothing to look at and distract me it was rather boring.

However, I’m sure there will be times it is useful and better to run on a treadmill than not run at all.

Saturday is looking like nice weather for my next 9k so hopefully it will be a good one like last week.

Thats great that you managed a 9k when only 8 was planned! I am yet to be at a place where I am both willing and able to go further than what the plan specifies - maybe one day!

And I am with you on the treadmills - I have only ever done it once, and I dont think I will ever again if I have the option! I am at least lucky to live somewhere we never get ice - we might get the occasional light frost but that is the worst of it.

You will get there, I was like that. I can honestly say that the boost I got from this forum before I went out really helped. I was almost tempted to go for the 10k!!
