Just looking at enrolling for an event in March to keep motivation and training levels up through the winter. I am running between 3.5 and 5.5km 2-3 times a week (probably average 5 runs/ fortnight). The event I’ve seen has a 10km and a 15km option and is in mid March. I only started running in March this year (good old C25k!) - am I being too ambitious aiming for 15km?
5km to 15km in 3.5 months? Too ambitious? - Bridge to 10K

Only input I can offer is Hal Higdons plan for doing a Full Marathon - 42.16 km- as a beginning runner is 18 weeks.
Everyone is different, but my feeling is that if you are doing the above comfortably and feel you have more in you, it should be feasible with a sensible plan of action

Hmm well Ju-ju's plan to get from 5 to 10k is 8 weeks, and then lets say you could then just add one km to your longest run each week, so another 5 weeks, that would get you to the end of February - so I think it should be quite doable!
Good luck!!

It's doable but to avoid the risk of injury I'd aim for the 10k race in March. I did JuJu's Bridge to 10K 8 week plan but I was already running a minimum of 5k each week (2-3 runs) If you achieve that comfortably you could see how you feel about adding a km onto your long run each week to get to 15K. Good luck with whatever you decide
