Just did a 3k run in -1C this morning. I couldn't wait for the measly 3k to end because the cold air was hurting my throat so much. It didn't help that I was trying to be clever and do the 30-20-10 intervals by using the JogRunSprint app on my phone for the first time and didn't realise that the app stops when I turn off my screen or try to fiddle with another app on the phone (such as checking my mileage on Strava). This meant I didn't get to run or sprint as much as I should have.
Any tips on how to adjust the app so that it still works with the screen turned off would be greatly appreciated!

As a cyclist I can tell you that running in -1C is not nearly as cold as 🚴 cycling in it, I have not cycled in that temperature for many years, however, once the temperature is - 4C or less running in that cold would become uncomfortable, not sure about the Strava App but check the settings icon on it, sometimes at settings it switches some of the pace buttons etc off itself by mistake.
Oh god I can't imagine how horrible the added wind chill is from cycling in freezing cold weather! Maybe my face would freeze? For running, I think I just need to wear an extra layer.
As for the JogRunSprint app, there's no settings on the app itself for it to not go to sleep
You take care and wrap up well in the cold. I made myself I'll yesterday on a 8k run in -1 food fuel, layers, hats and gloves needed. Take care stay cozy.
