Could you go back & discuss with the fitter? They are often very knowledgeable. And they can see the real foot & shoe!!
I recently bought some walking shoes that caused the same problem. Not at first, but after wearing them a few times.
I have a wide foot and found that the lace at the front of the shoe was too tight.
I loosened them all the way down and left some slack at the front before tightening the rest. That fixed the problem.
I read somewhere that you can place the shoes differently to relieve the tightness but I can't remember where (I didn't try that because I fixed the problem)
My thought was same as runaroundsue. Make sure they are not fastened too tight or that you are wearing socks which are too thick.
Wonder if this will help . If not I would return them. Good luck
Update the running shop that i bought my Brookes Levitate LE's from that where causing the numbness, exchanged shoes no problems even after 2 and 1/2 months, i now have Brookes Ghosts 12, so far so good, had 5 runs since New Year, fingers crossed when i start to increase the miles as starting soon training for Liverpool HM in May
