Hi fellow 10k runners ( it feels VERY good to say those words!) I can report a very successful day for me and my daughter ( Dachshundluver) . We both ran in the Fulham 10 k yesterday and although not fast ( both of us over the hour) slow and steady won us the day.
About 9 months ago my daughter- after realising that she needed more fun in life😊 took up running. She completed to c25k and accepted the challenge from me and the rest of her family for us all to run in the 10k . Since then she has upped her game regularly running 6-7 k in the hills around her house. I know that she looks a lot better for doing this AND she feels a lot more fit too.
We all, Father, Mother son/brother sons girlfriend and daughter ran - some a Lot faster than me . All completed- the only slight problem was that after running alongside me the whole of the time she decided to out sprint her old Mum to the finish line! You can’t keep the competitive sport away for ever.
So proud of her and of us all .
