Muddy trainers.

Here's a pic of my trainers this morn. I did a parkrun on Sat and cleaned them yesterday. They are 11 months old.

Apart from scraping and brushing off dried mud, I clean all the grooves in the soles (even after every run) with a small flat screwdriver or pointy knife.

Wash with an old toothbrush in warm water and some washingup liquid. Squeeze off any excess water and stuff with paper. If the paper is wet after a few hours replace then remove at night.

If not completely dry next day that shouldn't stop a run.

I'm out mostly 3 times a week, and can generally choose when to run. Being retired helps.

I joke with my kids (the oldest is 60), youll get 10 years use if you look after things. Its now a standard joke.

Just bang them off after the run if muddy, then before any mud still on dries, hose it off, maybe just using a stiff brush toothbrush? (but don't use one that you currently use or you'll get brown teeth! lol) job done.. Saves having to pic it off if the mud should dry on..

I hate having to do that..

I don't mind cleaning dry mud off in fact I prefer to do it that way. 👍😊

--Shake/Bang/Brush off

any mud pieces

Brilliantly clean runners Silverfox1943 - I am very impressed. I bet all your day shoes are well polished too.

I must confess I had to clean mine before I went out after Stratford-upon-Avon’s muddy patches at the weekend. But I only sit the soles. I use a kebab stick to get the mud out of the grooves.

Wow my mud shoes are in the garage with half the County Park on them literally

My race shoes are clean but all training shoes are bad tbh but I run with a puppy that needs cleaning every run the trailers too would be too much

When I first started I really cared for them but 500km later they still gave up

Covered in dirt etc they still achieve similar millage

They are still in good nick. I might get another 6months as some of the tread is starting to wear down, and I do mainly road work so need the cushion.👟🏃
