Hi Runners

After experimenting with beginners yogaπŸ§˜πŸ½β€β™‚οΈ on my rest day yesterday and feeling like a very undainty elephant 🐘 (and not a baby one either) while doing it 😡, I soothed myself by saying, β€œkeep it up, I will no doubt get better in time” πŸ€¨πŸ˜‚.

I woke up this morning with the tightness in the hamstring all gone and I want to run! πŸ™ŒπŸ½πŸ˜ƒ So.... it’s run time!! πŸƒπŸ½β€β™€οΈ

A quick 7 minute β€˜pre-run yoga’ session from YouTube and out I go! Nice and early so there’s not many people about and the traffic isn’t too bad 😁! I do miss the parks 🌳 🌲 , but they’re still a bit soggy. Plus, adding a drive to the park through morning traffic is not appealing.

The fresh air and the boosted mojo made it a lovely easy ”me time” run. At the end, I get a great surprise Halloween run achievement award on my app! Thanks...I’ll have it! πŸ˜‚

And I’ve got an achievement for running over the 50k challenge this month πŸ™ŒπŸ½πŸ˜. I know it’s not that much, but for me that’s a nice award to say I’m mastering winter! πŸ’ͺ🏽

I do the β€œpost-run yoga” session. Still no improvement from the way it felt the day before 🐘, but hey...I’ve stretched! I’ll get there. πŸ˜‰

The run is complete and I’m feeling good! πŸ˜ƒ

Love that you are Ghost Runner today!

Well done Fab you are smashing the winter running. As for the yoga, it will get easier, the best part is when you notice the improvement after a few weeks and you know you are making it :-) You will soon be as flexible as a 🐱

Ghost running for you today Fab450, glad you enjoyed your run this morning, however, as this is Halloween the real ghosts πŸ‘» don't appear until after it's dark, I notice they are most active around 6PM. 😊

Could be UNM, these 'ghosts' are usually very young and accompied by human adults, I am sure the average runner would be able to outrun one of those ghostsπŸ‘» if chased. 😊 πŸƒπŸΎ

Hello, I do yoga too to help stretch things out and also to calm me down. I try Adriene on Youtube, she's good and has different routines for practically everything, including running and lots of different length practices.

I have stiff hamstrings and hips, and after nearly 2 months of daily (sometimes very brief) yoga am finding them easing a bit. Not as much as I would like, but slow progress is better than none right ;)

The emphasis on the breath of yoga may also help with running too.

The challenge is to get into the position before they’re moving on again! πŸ˜‚You’re right, slow progress is better than none! 🀩❀️

I'm finding it hard to get out there for running, but doing plenty of outdoor core strength digging new allotment, so happy with every break in the clouds πŸŒ¨πŸ˜„

Thanks Run46!! πŸ€— I’ve enjoyed the running, but the yoga, oh it was shameful! 😳 What?...Goes where? Is that right? Because mine goes nowhere near! And that was for beginners πŸ₯΄ I was still trying to get into position when it was moving on πŸ˜‚! So not quite as soothing and relaxing as I’d hoped. But I’m not giving up. I’m going to explore other videos to see if I can find one that goes a bit slower, so I can get the basics right.

I might try a foam roller next too! πŸ˜‚ Enjoy! 😁❀️

I'm not sure enjoy and foam roller should be in the same paragraph but it is weirdly tempting in that though uncomfortable it feels like it's good for you!

Best of luck with your yoga...and finding a nice slow vid so you don't feel so uncoordinated, mind you there's always the pause button πŸ˜‚πŸ‘

Ah thanks JoJo!! πŸ€— Although it was for beginners, I think I have to find something simpler to start off with. Apart from being able to sit crossed legged, I was not in the least bit flexible. But I’ll be working on it! 😁❀️
