Another box ticked

So having to cut last week's attempt short due to me running out of daylight, and figuring that with the clock change, it will be dark by the time I finish work from now until March, I went out and treated myself to a Petzl 400 lumen head torch at the weekend.

Took it for its maiden run tonight and, lo and behold, 2 hours later, 16.1k/10 miles is in the bag. Not sure how my legs will feel about this tomorrow, but they'll live to run another day I'm sure...

Congratulations on that big 10. Yeah, may be a few aches tomorrow, but you can just remember how awesome that run was! Extra kudos for getting it done in the dark.

Fantastic effort, torch obviously works well. Can’t conceive of running that length on a nice sunny day let alone in darkness in October 👌🏻

10 miles is a massive achievement. You certainly gave that torch a good workout!

Congratulations sTrongFuse on running 10 miles in the dark with your new head torch, it wasn't all that long ago I remember you were struggling on running 10K, well done, remember to claim your 10-mile graduation badge.

Wow! I couldn't imagine heading out for an evening 10 mile run. That is great. Food for thought though for me. I'm finding it harder to get motivated in the evening with the early darkness, perhaps a head torch will help 🤔

It's one of those where I don't have much choice. I'm really not a morning person, I like my bed too much. Even if I were though, to run for two hours before work, I'd have to get when it was still dark and, at this time of year, quite likely to be icy underfoot. If I have to run in darkness in any event, I'd much rather do it at a time that fits my biorhythms which, for me, is evenings. It's also a good way of getting rid of any work related frustrations too.
