I just couldn’t muster up the energy to run today after a late flight home yesterday from a short break away. Should I have at least tried a run? Is it more sensible to rest?

Feeling guilty
If you're not properly rested, the run will never be a success. Have a good night's sleep and get back out tomorrow when you are feeling better.
When you’re not running you’re recovering or preparing, so it’s all good! The run will wait patiently for you... hit it up tomorrow, or maybe Tuesday.
Did you mean you listened to your body and decided on an extra recovery day? I did that today.
I have had a crazy few weeks with work trying to complete a project which was an all consuming. I was then away at the weekend at a family reunion and relaxed properly on Friday night. Since then I’m exhausted. The last 5 weeks has caught up on me. I have not ran since Wednesday. I wanted to run today but just couldn’t do it. So I relaxed. I’ll run tomorrow. I don’t feel one bit guilty. I’m properly exhausted.

Definitely sensible not to have run in the circumstances poohbear. It wouldn’t have been a successful run in all likelihood. Rest up, then go out. 👍
Your progress has been amazing to get to where you are and there is no rush You enjoy your rest and next Run there will be no stopping you
Thanks everyone! Good advice and as Laura says - ‘Listen to your body’
Yep listen to your body. 😁. U made the best choice. I've forced myself before and its not too good.
