New route for autumn šŸ

Went out this morning - Yay to me - the second weekday morning i have got up, only this I got up when my alarm went off :-) Put my trusty ultraboosts on for this one as i was planning a hybrid run...the grip on them is outstanding.

It was drizzling a little, but i braved it in long sleeve top only, was mildly damp when i got home, nothing major. I decided to try out a new route where i pound the pavements under the cover or street light, then as the sun rose (not that there was any) I was able to track down onto the park (gravel/stone routes) and it all seemed to work - would not have fancied the park in the dark - the ground is far too unpredictable you need to see where you are going. Also amazed to see the lake which was half emptied of water and just mud but a few weeks ago was today full with water - that just shows how much šŸŒØ we've had!

A great run though, quite enjoyed it, looking forward to the next one. Realised that as great as this route is (why had i not tried it before) it could be short lived...all dependent on what time daylight will strike so i will be checking that when we hit mid-November!

Trainers stuffed with newspaper too :-)

Happy running everyone!

Good that you have found a new running route for Autumn, same with me, my

normal route has in part become very muddy, the new route which is all tarmac and lit at night if I wanted to run at night starts less than a three minutes walk away from my home šŸ”. It's in the shape of a nine, the circle of the nine is 700 metres, so to make up 1 Kilometre I continue along the straight part for 150 metres, make a U turn, so altogether that makes up the other 300 metres, then back to the circle, hence the 1k. I did use this route on some of my runs when doing C25K, it's all off road, past two primary schools, but I would not run before the school children were in their classes. I will try a full 5K on this route soon.

Sounds good Al - will make for an interesting route map! Its whether you will find it dull repeating the loop 5 times? Don't blame you for avoiding the school run - its chaotic :-)

I love autumn running too Alison. For me itā€™s the perfect temperature. Your route sounds gorgeous. Thereā€™s something wonderful about picking your way up and down uneven paths. I hope you get to run it a few more times - donā€™t forget the mornings will be a bit lighter for a couple of weeks when the clocks change. šŸ˜€

That sounds like a right good start to the day alisonx ...and your trainers sounds like the business, just right for this kind of run. I love shaking things up with a new run...and anything away from the traffic has got to be good right?? I do like the canal but I must admit, sometimes I need a change of scenery, I'm sure the ducks must wonder where I am when I'm not down there!! I think you'll prob be ok with the light for another couple of weeks

Yes the clock change is going to be useful, i have a gaggle of geese that greet me too at the lake :-) It makes the run more fun as they like to wiggle out of my way!

Hahaha...how cute?! There were 3 swans at the side of the canal the other day and I must admit to feeling a little bit threatened by them!! It's lovely that we can share the outdoors with the lovely animals šŸ˜€
