Time or distance??

I ran for 60 minutes, for the first time last Friday, but only managed to run 8K. I've since completed a short run and a 5K so today is my long run. As the weather is totally crap, I'm staying indoors and running on the treadmill. Question is: do I increase distance by running faster over 60 minutes or do I run for a longer period e.g. 70 minutes?

Too late now presumably, but I would have said fractionally faster (no more than 8.5 kph) - and if after an hour you feel good, do 10 more minutes as well 😀
