Hello everyone, a very late PR post. Its been a good week took the dogs out in the car for a change of scenery for their walk and also took the opportunity to look for somewhere different to run which is a bit more interesting than my usual suburban route. The photos are of Plimmerton and Paremata, just 10 minutes drive from home. Plimmerton has several cafes near the water, so it could be a plan for coffee in the sunshine hopefully after my next long run. I ran 13k on Wednesday and the plan is 14k next week if the weather allows. The dog’s test results showed nothing wrong with the vet just putting it down to his age, (12) so 🤞 he keeps healthy for a little longer.
Made it to parkrun this morning Yay! waking up in time this week; to Ed Sheeran singing Perfect. So, so cold this morning and with the sun not yet up, the park was pretty chilly and I really struggled, my chest hurt and I ended up taking a couple of walking breaks on the way up to the halfway mark, but managed to run the rest of the way back.
After waiting all day for the results to come through, we have been advised that the scanner wasn’t working, so I’m unsure of my time, somewhere between 36.13 and 36.25 when I remembered to stop nattering and stop my watch. Sadly its a Garmin 🤬 say no more, I won’t bother manually uploading it to Strava and will just wait for the official PR time. I am just relieved I finished today and hopefully my little kindness rock I left was picked up and is journeying somewhere new. I’ll be back next week (with warmer clothes) Enjoy your weekend and happy exercising and stay safe all x

I am so happy that your dog is OK, good run for you on Saturday, you ran 13K on Wednesday, very good, as you know I ran 10 miles on Wednesday and I am sure it affected my (not) parkrun time this morning, it was the first time in all the 36 not and official Parkruns that I have not ran a sub 35 minute 5K, my time on Saturday was 36.50, nevertheless I enjoyed the run.
Thanks Alan, yes your 10 miles probably tired you out, its a big distance but I’m sure with a few days rest and shorter runs after your long run you’ll be flying next not parkrun. 36.50 is still a great time though.
Thanks BBr, its been a great week and hope the weather holds for my long run next week. I’m a little frustrated that Garmin is down, but so must a lot of people , especially as my PR time was a PB but they’ve mistakenly awarded it to another runner, so I’ve had to take a chill pill this morning 😂 will need Adriene to soothe me. See you there 🙏🏻 xxx
Wow Lexi6!! Well done you!! 🤗 Great PR time and the photo’s? Well they’re amazing too!! Absolutely beautiful! I’m sure your kindness rock will make someone’s day feel extra special!! 🤩❤️
Thanks Fab, it was worth getting up for PR and those kindness rocks are a lovely idea, sure they’ll make someone else smile like I did when I found it. 🥰
Great news that you, like me, just have an elderly pooch. So pleased you got good news 😃 30 degrees here in southwest France again today. I could do with a bit of cooler weather!
Thanks Sandie, we’ve got him for a bit longer thank goodness. The vet suggested he have future regular blood tests to keep an eye on his liver but at $350.00 a pop, we probably won’t. Phew! 30 degrees. I don’t think I could run in those temperatures, will take ours willingly over yours I think. Keep cool and well hydrated 😊
Thanks Coddfish, it is lovely, I need to get up there more often its all so close to home and when the kids were little, we were there often splashing about. 😊
So love hearing about your parkruns in the summer hemisphere Lexi6. Are the numbers going up as people gain confidence? Your pebble is now on a new journey I am sure.
Hiya Dexy, we had only134 at ours yesterday and I was quite surprised there weren’t more. Maybe the wintry season has contributed to the lack of numbers, a warm bed winning out, but when summer arrives it will be a different story We had a small handful of first timer/lockdown new runners? Still its nice to be a little higher up the finishing list 🙂 even if yesterday they gave my finishing position and PB to a runner who I’d passed before the 1k mark. Grrr!
Thanks Baddie think I need to wear a buff over my mouth, but worry about steaming up my glasses if I fall off the track its a long drop down to the stream which the track follows. 😂
It makes for sad reading, the new cases and deaths being recorded in Melbourne RW. This covid is proving to be a tough one to beat. Stay strong Melbourne.
I’m so relieved about your dear old pup Lexi. They’re so special aren’t they? 🐾🥰
A lovely bunch of photos too. The air looks so fresh. Way more pleasant than the muggy heavy air during my run yesterday morning, where I simply wished for rain! It did, but only during my cool down walk when Flossie and I got drenched! 💦💦💦
Have a lovely week running, walking your dogs and on the mat! 🏃♀️🐾 🧘♀️
Thanks cheeky, trying not to think about when he’s gone. 😕 Had another walk with the old chaps somewhere different today in glorious sunshine and afterwards called in to pet store to get them some biccies and had a puppy moment with a cute one called Archie an 11 week old Maltese/Tibetan Spaniel whose owner was buying him a new harness ❤️ You have a great week too 🥰
