I fully agree with you JaoJao, I wish everyone who are running at a parkrun good luck, however, I am not going to a parkrun today, I don't go every week, this morning I am putting on week 5 run 3 with Laura and having a 20 minute run with her and this afternoon I will be going for a 6 kilometer walk, are you running at a parkrun this morning?.

I’ve just got back from my parkrun, and buzzy from the parkrun high 👍 Enjoy your run with Laura and your afternoon walk x

Good for you, I know that you enjoyed your run today, I ran the 20 minute run of week 5 this morning, it seemed very short compared with the 69.23 minute 10K run that I ran on Wednesday, its a beautiful day where I live in Central Scotland, yes I am looking forward to my walk in a few hours, I am now going to read the reports from runners who ran this morning at a parkrun.

I’ve been doing a long run midweek and now parkrun doesn’t seem that long! It’s a good feeling :)

Guess what, that 🚶 walk this afternoon turned out to be a short 🏃run, what happened was that I set up for the walk, noticed several runners and decided there and then to run, run 1 of week 1, 8/60 second runs, 7/90 second walks, did it, felt better after that, just proves that I have the running 🐛 bug. I don't know about you but when I am out a walk and see other runners, it wants me to have at least a short run, so this morning I ran in my proper running shoes, cap and belt, run 3 of week 5, in the afternoon I ran run 1 of week 1 just in ordinary trainers, no running cap and a normal T shirt 👚. 😊 🏃 Have a nice relaxing evening.

I’m watching first half of Japan vs Ireland in the Rugby World Cup. Then I’m going to volunteer at my local parkrun. No running for me today, but I’ll be doing a 10K run tomorrow. Happy running to all fellow parkrunners.

Damien

I was a marshal yesterday at parkrun. I caught the first half at home. Our local parkrun is a 3 lap course around a town park. One of the runners was listening to the match on his phone whilst running. Each time he passed he gave me an update on the score. Japan did very well.

Well done - that must feel fantastic

I did it! I did find it tough today though having not been running regularly for the past three weeks.

This was my second Parkrun and interestingly I was a bit faster than my first Parkrun 35.16 . It was still about 3 minutes slower than I was doing before my ankle problems though.

Anyway, the main thing was I didn’t walk and my ankle seems to feel fine which is encouraging.

Just off to yoga so hopefully that will help as well.

Hope you all had great runs and have a lovely weekend.

Thanks JaoJao, I ran my new local favourite today, Severn Bridge. It was blowing a hooley and the heavens opened while we were running, but it was epic! It’s so friendly, and running on the exposed bridge is exhilarating! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️💨💦👍

You are so lucky cheeky chipmunks I’ve not ventured towards Wales but I’ve always wanted to cross the Severn bridge! I know there is a parkrun there and one day I hope I can try it. How many times have you done it? Xx

cheekychipmunks profile image
cheekychipmunksGraduate10 in reply to JaoJao

I’ve done the PR twice now, but my love of running on the bridge started when I did the 10k back in August. The hottest run I’ve ever done! But I still loved it and will definitely enter again next year. 😀

Let me know if you’re planning to run the PR at any time and I’ll come too! 😀😀

Couple of us thinking of giving that a try on a nice day - don’t fancy it in the rain

cheekychipmunks profile image
cheekychipmunksGraduate10 in reply to WC8334

It was “character building” WC! But running in the rain was so refreshing. 💦

cheekychipmunks profile image
cheekychipmunksGraduate10 in reply to JaoJao

Yay! 👏👏

WC8334 profile image
WC8334Graduate10 in reply to cheekychipmunks

Will definitely head there one day

We normally do Newport or Cwmbran

cheekychipmunks profile image
cheekychipmunksGraduate10 in reply to WC8334

It starts on the Chepstow side of the bridge, and we run 3/4 of the way across before turning back. It’s spectacular on a clear day and dramatic on one like today!

I hope you have had a great run at parkrun today JaoJao I always feel great after my running and now watching the women’s world road championship Xx

JaoJao profile image
JaoJaoGraduate10 in reply to Kevtrev

Kev I had a great time, we have a lovely little community at my local parkrun, everyone mucks in and have made so many friends along the way these last 3 months. I love going back for more every weekend :) I’ve had a nice shower and am having a very quick snooze now, and then having coffee with a friend at 2.00, then back home and on the sofa to watch the championship highlights all afternoon on BBC2. I hope there’s coverage of running! That’s what I call BLISS!

Are you running alongside the traffic or are you quite far from it? How wide is the footpath

cheekychipmunks profile image
cheekychipmunksGraduate10 in reply to JaoJao

If you’re asking about Severn Bridge JJ (apologies if you’re not!), we run on the footpath parallel to the M48. We’re pretty close to the traffic, but it adds to the atmosphere, and we get lots waves and honking horns which is lovely!

It’s wide enough for overtaking but we stay right otherwise. It’s fun to congratulate the gazelles as they speed back the other way! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

JaoJao profile image
JaoJaoGraduate10 in reply to cheekychipmunks

Thank you for the added details cheekychip, I can imagine it now and I bet it’s a great vibe with traffic acting as your cheering swuad, I hope I can get to it one day and I will let you know xx

cheekychipmunks profile image
cheekychipmunksGraduate10 in reply to JaoJao

Please do. It’s close enough for me to call it a local PR, so I can do any time after October (which is fairly busy running wise 👍🏃‍♀️) 😀
