How did nine days go by without running?! I know my intention was to run, but somewhere between rain, a poorly child, a sick friend, work, a climate strike march and a long weekend away... the shoes and the new chest heart rate monitor languished in the car, unused.
No more excuses. I put my son on his bike, strapped myself in and plodded out. It was a repeat of the previous run; constant, lovely, exhausting chatter. I couldn’t breathe and talk and run the longer route I tentatively had planned, but instead turned for home early. I guess 3k is 3k, and I have been doing 100 press-ups a day and swam 1k tonight, so it’s all in the tank.
Unfortunately my chest monitor appears to have flatlined before going crazy on the run, so no data to play with today I’m afraid! My pace graph also looks suspiciously level. Perhaps it was too shocked at all the activity to record properly 😆
Ach well.

😂 It looks like you were very very calm! I've got run stats on my Garmin that look like that, I now have to do my watch strap a couple of notches tighter. Don't know what your chest monitor equivalent would be, but it must be frustrating for you! Very impressive swimming, kt, and I can't even imagine a hundred press-ups 😵
Hehe. You don’t do the press-ups in one go! So sets of 10x10, 4x25... 100x1?! After a week of it, I’m finding 25 comfortable and can push through to 35. Just like running, it’s amazing how quickly your body adapts.
As for swimming, wow it was difficult so thank you! I did one length crawl followed by one length breaststroke, which was just about manageable.
Apart from the HRM I would be very happy with that. 😊😊
I told someone at work recently that when I run I don't use my arms enough, and when I swim (extremely rarely) I don't use my legs properly, I must be only able to coordinate 1 set of limbs at a time 😐.
Swimming lessons are part of my 2020 plan .
I think that was a great days worth of exercise. 🤗
Interesting... the HRM worked at some level as the average HR reported in numbers is substantially different from what the graph says it should be (140 tops)
3k is indeed 3k and I always find a shorter run is the best run after a break as the first thing that goes for me is my ability to pace myself... sometimes I struggle with that after 2 days off 🤣
Thanks UNM! Yes, a bit odd. I think maybe it took an average from the wrist monitor right at the end. I’m just ignoring it. Pacing, such a challenge innit.
