First time in over 3 weeks that I've put on my running gear ~ spent some time this morning trying to find some motivation to get out there.... I have had zero mojo to run ☹️ Eventually took the plunge, laced up, put the looooooong lead on our newly adopted dog (who is a very young greyhound with lots of energy but not much stamina!) downloaded a crime podcast (on reflection think I prefer music) and plodded to and around the nature reserve. Ticked off today's run. Would like to do Parkrun Saturday, but we shall see...πŸ¦‹ Really wanting to get back on the running train, not sure why I keep stopping myself though πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ~ hey ho 😊

Happy running runny people πŸ¦‹β€οΈπŸ¦‹

oooh, greyhounds :) I have 2, I love them!

I had a "no mojo" period, but signing up for a couple of events gave me a focus again, is that a possibility for you?

Ah another greyhound lover, I find they're addictive .. think this is our 6th one 😊I have found a local 10k in November- think it will be a good idea signing up for that 😊

mine are ex-racers from a refuge, now 4 and 5 years old - no social skills and no obedience when we got them, but they're getting better :) we've had them a year now

did yours ever learn to do stairs?

you can see them here - taking care of the couch while I do the 5K

πŸ˜† my rescue Lab was totally confused by stairs. Staying at a Travelodge we had to go up and down in the lift 🀣

Well done, runny one. I’ve got a HM looming and much less than that run in about the past month πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. Try and do another one soon.

You’ve adopted a greyhound Flara? 😍😍😍😍 Pics!!! πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

Well done getting out today. Hopefully a running buddy will spur you on to get out more regularly. Happy dog/happy runner! πŸ•β€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Would he be able to do PR with you? I know about greyhounds’ lack of stamina - would 5k be ok for him (I’m saying him, apologies if she’s a she!)

Keep running whenever you feel like it Flara. Keep it low key and enjoyable. ❀️

She's mad as a box of green hoppy things CC - we were made for each other! I'd be banned from PR if I took her - she's a hazard!πŸ˜‚ Getting me out regularly to trot round the nature reserve is what I'm hoping she'll be useful for πŸ¦‹πŸ€—

Yaaay Flar and Yaay your running buddy! As always I can relate, but 3 weeks gaps or not, you keep going back out there and that’s what counts!! Run on butterfly πŸ¦‹!! πŸ€—πŸ€—β€οΈ Xx

Awww thanks Fabz πŸ€— I frustrate myself because I think about going but then I opt out - I can talk myself out of anything! Running is/was my only form of exercise (apart from excessive walking at work!) so I need to push myself harder to get out... because as we both know Fabz, it's always worth it! Hope you are well lovely β€οΈπŸ¦‹β€οΈ

Maybe it’s an initial push Flar and I’m the same with that too. We know that the initial push turns into a great feeling, so its ok to be gentle with the push too. Little run, long run, the beauty is we’ve never been out after a gap and discovered that we can’t run anymore. That old story has definetly gone!! πŸ˜‰ It usually works well when I set the intention to be unavailable to everything and just have time for me! I don’t feel compelled to plan too much and I’ve discovered that that’s ok for me. πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—β€οΈ Xx

ohhh new dog :-)

You still laced up and got out there. The gremlins are pesky and can eat your mojo at any given time, I think. However, sounds like your is coming back :-)

Thanks Deals πŸ€— My mojo seems to disappear into a black hole frequently πŸ™„ But yeah back out today and spat the gremlins out πŸ˜‚

Hi Flaraflarkin, I lost the joy of running, then chose early morning gardening throughout the summer, which I loved. Soon realised that I didn't want to lose the fitness that I had gained so kept one interval run a week going. I don't think that kept my fitness/stamina up, so I have decided to build my running up again. I am hoping to find some new routes; may cycle or drive to my start point. I am sure I became bored before. I do hope you discover whatever is right for you. 😊🌸

Yes I'm very aware of my fitness levels 61 and how they dip when I'm not running - it's my only exercise! Good for you and your early morning gardening 😊I think it's boredom that gets me too - I'm sure you'll find some good new routes, here's to us both upping our running πŸ€—πŸ¦‹

Hello FF. How ace a real running buddy.

Greyhounds might not have bags of stamina but bet he/she will love a trot out.

Very envious as my dogs are a bit ancient and anything like a run would see them off.

I think swift Bob is a good name for a greyhound, what's your chap/chapess called.

You know this running lark is just a bit of exercise and sometimes you can enjoy it. If the mojo is not with you why not do some long walks with a bit of trotting here and there. You can say the dogs not up for it.

Happy trotting. πŸ… is that a long legged dog. I need new specs. πŸ¦‹

Easy tiger!! ''Twas almost a dog πŸ˜‚ I'm so glad I'm not the only one who has to hope for the best with blurred emojis 😱 We have an older greyhound too, this new addition CeCe (already named) is a bundle of scatty energy who needs lots of walks and doesn't just lie on her back on the sofa like all the other greyhounds we've had!Fingers crossed she gives me motivation! I'm impressed with your progress by the way πŸ€—πŸ¦‹

Last weekend was just pig headed madness. I am going to be 60 next March. A lady in my village, older than me but running longer did a half marathon earlier this year and suggested I could do it. Why can I not just stick to my limitations, throw the gauntlet down and I bite every time.

I have signed up for first proper running thing 10k remembrance Sunday run, as someone on here once said bricking it.

I now need to just keep running. Shall keep you posted.

Much love to CeCe.

New specs can wait need to spend my money on lycra. πŸ¦‹x

Hello Flara! Lovely to β€˜see’ you again! I’ve got a friend who’s addicted to greyhounds, she seems to collect them too, and she makes very similar comments to you about them. She’s an artist and designs lovely collars for them.

Go for that 10k race, that’ll really help your mojo as you’ll have something to aim for. Parkruns are wonderful but they aren’t the same as a race buzz.

Happy/Nutty doggie πŸ• walking and happier running πŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ πŸ€—πŸ¦†πŸ¦‹x

No MoJo is my default setting. Tuesday I was talking of going for run and changed into tracks. I kept wandering around from room to room with socks in my hands and finally sat down to take a call. My 9 year old put my socks on my feet. No choice but to run :)

Well done Flara. You went out there, so your mojo isn’t completely gone. At least you now have a reason even to do a short trot with your new pooch! Unfortunately, like Runningroni my pooch is too old at 13 to run with me, even if he could run in a straight line and not stop to sniff every 10 seconds πŸ˜‚
