Annoying pain on top of foot

So I'm still trying to get to 10k from graduating last Christmas and had a few set backs but now feeling stronger and wanting another go!

I managed 6k last Friday at a reasonable pace and didn't really notice anything wrong with my foot, but then went for a 5k walk afterwards. Whilst I was walking, I noticed my left foot felt sore on the top under the laces, and I had to keep loosening my laces.

I iced it that night, and it's still niggling a few days later. I'm going to attempt another shorter run on Wednesday but now wondering whether that's a good idea?

Any similar experiences? I wondered if I'd had my running shoes on laced up too tight?!

It's hard to say until you try the running shoes with the laces a bit looser, it might be all that needs done.

Try some stretches on it, sit on a chair rest sore foot on opposite leg, cup the top of your sore foot with your hand close to the toes, gently bend the toes downward, hold for 20 seconds x 3.

Try to pain relief balm too.

Poss too tight laces, you can alter your lacing to take the pressure off the top whilst keeping the ankle snug. Google lacing tips for ideas 👍🏻
