Injury advice please

Hi, can anyone help? I have been suffering with what I think is a hamstring strain for months now. I can still run but I get a pain right at the top of my leg whenever my hamstring is under any strain and if I sit for long periods then the pain increases, the pain seems to be in the ‘sit bone’. I have tried ice treatment including cryo stimulation treatment, heat, massage, physio all of which has helped a little but I still have pain and my leg feels like there is not enough strength compared to the other leg. I am doing leg strengthening exercises and yoga. I also had a 6 week break from running all of which have made small improvements but it just won’t go away! Has anyone else had anything like this? I get different opinions from everyone I have consulted but no definitive diagnosis.

Maybe go and see a consultant and get an MRI scan at this stage, which will show any damage to that leg....it sounds so painful and it is important that you do find out what is happening.

Thanks Oldfloss, I think you’re right, I did go to my GP but she was pretty useless, told me there is a two year wait for an MRI scan and sent me for an X-ray which showed nothing! Looks like I’ll have to dig deep and pay for an MRI scan 🥴

It can be worth it..the x rays don't show enough...I had an MRI last year and it showed everything! At least you have a starting point then..

Do you have any health insurance?

Like Oldfloss says, you need to get it scanned to see what the problem is, go to your gp.

Thanks yes you’re both right but I was pretty disillusioned with my gp (see reply to Oldfloss above) I might try to see if I can see another Dr.

Yes do what's best for you and see another doctor if you need to.

Look after yourself.
