I started C25K in May and graduated end of August, I had never ever run before and did not think I would manage, but here I am. Since then, I have run regularly but without goals, I have actually been backwards and have found that I didn't complete 30' runs without stopping - so I have decided to set myself a new goal which is to run 10k. Argh!
I am aware of JuJu's plan but I am after an apps to help me with the training. I have only found 1 called 5k to 10k on Itunes, it looks ok to me but I wanted to ask if there is any recommendation you may make? I couldn't find an apps from the NHS with Laura for example.
also the apps I downloaded alternates tempo run with steady run and jogs. I have never heard of this, and assume this is the right way?
Thank you very much

For coaching, Nike Run Club’s guided runs are hard to beat. As 5-10k plans go, the magic plan here is excellent. The two are compatible as the guided runs come in both time and distance varieties... if there’s no run of the right distance there’s one at roughly the right time for you.
Ju-ju-‘s plan also works nicely with any tracker that can keep you updated for time/distance as you go and will tell you when you’ve reached your goal... the best ones will also tell you the half way point, which is cool on an out and back.
Personally, I don’t have the time for 3 10k runs a week, which is where most apps go. I’m training for HM, but only need one long run a week, so it all fits much easier.
morning, me neither won't do 10k three times a week (let alone once!), I have downloaded Nike Club and an apps 5 to 10k I found and will see how I get on. thanks for the tips
Hi Elisabeth - it's called 5 to 10k and the developer is Active network and it's free. if you go on your apps store on iTunes and type '5 to 10k app' it should come up. I am starting tomorrow so will report on performance. Hope this helps
Hi Elisabeth, first run was good. Funny what a goal does to you as I didn't stop once!
The apps is really great but there were no voice cues which means I was checking the time on screen from time to time. It may be because my strava was on as well as my music, because I think there should be voice cues. I will check. But overall I recommend the apps. Let me know how you get on.
